In the end, there probably wouldn't be enough characters to choose from for a tournament. Horror fans these days, indeed, filmmakers from the last 30 years or so, tend to focus on the visceral thrill of the moment, the visualisation of the blood spurting, the horrified scream, the disembodied limb hitting the floor, rather than the painstaking process of creating a character one can care for, and become emotionally attatched to, and then snatching them away at the last minute, for maximum emotional impact. Such a thing barely exists in today's cookie-cutter, franchise driven horror scene.

As for the 60s tournament- there aren't enough old farts around to vote in it.

Uh??

Who the hell is that?

"Jigsaw" was not a killer, he just captured people and put them through a "game" So, I would not really consider him to be a killer of any sorts. Uhm, Norman Bates...Some people seem to forget him sometimes. Stuntman Mike from Grindhouse could be known as a killer of some sorts if anyone ever seen/heard/watched "Grindhouse" ?
