I heard once that the only way to get rid of a troll is with milk. Or maybe that was something from one of those movies my grand-kids watch. Just... just get to work. |

What a fucking thread. V, are you out of your goddamn mind? I know the rest of these people are, but holy shit.
By the way, trolls, are fairies. You can get rid of them with riddles and with iron. Iron definitely hurts them. Fuck Tolkien |
Here's the best riddle I know in terms of difficulty. Not particularly funny, but it was made by Einstein and supposedly only the people in the top 2% of the world as far as intelligence goes can solve it without aid. I admit, I had to look for a bit of help, but I sorted out the majority of it.
- In a street there are five houses, painted five different colors. - In each house lives a person of different nationality. - These five homeowners each drink a different kind of beverage, smoke different brand of cigar and keep a different pet. Einstein's riddle is: Who owns the fish? Necessary clues: 1. The British man lives in a red house. 2. The Swedish man keeps dogs as pets. 3. The Danish man drinks tea. 4. The Green house is next to, and on the left of the White house. 5. The owner of the Green house drinks coffee. 6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds. 7. The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill. 8. The man living in the center house drinks milk. 9. The Norwegian lives in the first house. 10. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats. 11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill. 12. The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer. 13. The German smokes Prince. 14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house. 15. The Blends smoker lives next to the one who drinks water. Let's see if that kills the troll! |
01) First in the street - Yellow house, Norwegian, drinks water, smokes Dunhill and keeps cats.
02) Second in the street - Blue house, Danish, drinks tea, smokes Blends and keeps horses. Someone else can take it from here. |
I don't think anything said there indicates that any of them necessarily own a fish at all?
Besides, you can't really own a fish. I mean, nobody really owns anything, do they? For if a man cannot own his own soul, how can any possession stay in such a flimsy grasp? |

3. Red House, Brit, Milk, Pall Mall, Birds 4. Green House, German, Coffee, Prince, Fish 5. White House, Swede, Beer, Blue Master, Dogs So, to answer Einstein: the German owns the Fish. :) Nice riddle ferret. :D |
Did you work it out or did you google it?

Worked it out, FC. I have faced plenty of similar logic tests throughout my college years and entrance exams. Had a strong urge to google it for the answer but fought it off. |
