I am major western fan-o...they come on AMC every Sat morning and I usually catch them all. There is an old one out there with...Ronald Reagan...yep, I believe its the Man with the Tin Star...damn good western. Many modern westerns (inc. Wyatt Earp w Costner) have stolen some of the scenes and dialogue out of this one.

By the way...The Appaloosa is total shit, sorry but that Brando movie is horrible...now One Eyed Jacks w him is a good revenge western.
Grim Prarie Tales ahas a story called McComas in it with Dylan McDermot that is cool.
Once Upon a TIme in the West...the Good the Bad and the Ugly...Great Films...so is Warlock and just about any western with Fonda, Peck, Stewart, Wayne...I have all John Wayne westerns, even the 1930's ones on DVD, someone posted it earlier, but it was correct...Last Man Standing is a Solid remake of Fistful of Dollars.

Shit, almost forgot...Lonesome Dove...the first entire movie is a phenomonal flick...Dead Mans walk needs help, Streets of Laredo is above average

Really great. Superb... I had to rewind that shotgun blast to the head... by the way, that is what shotgun blasts really do to portions of the human body...they just kind of disappear into a red mist...

for anyone interested in westerns based on a historical event, try this marathon. These films are all based on the same story but are all completly different:

My Darling Clementine (1946)-Henry Fonda, Victor Mature
Gunfight At The OK Corral (1957) Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas
Hour Of The Gun (1967) James Garner, Jason Robards
Tombstone (1993) Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer
Wyatt Earp (1994) Kevin Costner, Dennis Quaid
