Well, I'm going to say something, and if gets me in trouble then that does not bode well for the future of this forum.
I think the "HDC Mods" are being a little bit uptight about the postings on this thread. It seems to me that everything posted here was posted in fun, and if we can't post in fun, then there's a huge problem. If we can't express any displeasure with any type of creativity then there's a problem.
Don't bother posting a link to the rules. I've read them. I understand them. They weren't really broken. There are just some things that people have had enough of and damnit, they're getting a little irritated, but here, in this post, it was done more humorously instead of out and out and angrily.
The foundation of a forum is it's members not the moderators. I thought that the rules were enforced so as to control the all out bashing of new members and giant page upon page fights or even, I give you, fights that carry on for a more than a few posts. I wasn't, and I dare say, that we weren't aware that they would be used to censor our conversations all of the time.
We're people. We like to laugh, joke, and occasionally take the piss at someone else's expense. It's been done to me. I don't care. Occasionally we're going to get mad at someone and say, "Goddamn you, that pisses me off. Fuck you." It can be mean, but it happens in everyday conversation, even among best friends. When it does happen, a little person does not pop out of thin air and say, "Bad bad bad," and smack us in the face. Also, when it happens, it's usually forgotten the next day, and we're posting again like normal.
HDC Mods, let me tell you a story that I've told a few people here. I've actually been banned before. I'm a gamer girl, and I was a part of a Final Fantasy forum. The webmistress was telling everyone and sundry on the forum that she was Sephiroth's wife (Sephiroth is a video game character). That's really fucked up. I have a fetish, I know, but that's for after spells are cast, tarot readings are done, evening prayers are recited, and my pretty eyes are closed. Someone on the site pm'd me for some reason, and the topic came up about her. I, stupidly or just casually (you decide) said that I thought she was crazier than a shit house rat for prancing around a forum declaring herself the wife of a video game character. He told her, and she banned me.
My point is that censorship sucks, and you really really don't want to be like that webmistress were no one can say anything, anything at all that you don't like. That is nigh unto facism and no one likes facism. I'm not calling you a facist, because I know that you're not, but I'm saying that you're taking this too far. I was calling her a facist and a fucking retarded schizophrenic. (It's bad being retarded and schizophrenic... I don't know that from personal experience, you understand).
So, can you cut us a little slack?:)
