Also, the Artemis Fowl books would make for an interesting film series...perhaps somehow amalgamated into 2 films.
I loved the first book, but I couldnt get through the second one. I thought it was terrible...for the most part it was just a re-hash with a couple new characters. I havent bothered with the rest.

The first one definatly would make a great film though...

You win for mentioning this book, but I think this one falls under the category of "unfilmable."

Anyway, here's my list:
Neuromancer by William Gibson
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
Mephisto in Onyx by Harlan Ellison
The Forge of God by Greg Bear
Perdido Street Station by China Mieville

I have read a lot of books which have been made into movies, esp of my fav author Stephen King.
Sidney Sheldon's The Doomsday Conspiracy would make a good movie.
Then there's Ayn Rand's Fountainhead.
Ringworld by Larry Niven.
The Island of the Day Before by Umberto Eco.

dunno if anyone else read these, but they would make some fantastic movies...

If Naked Lunch and Requiem for a Dream can be made into movies, anything can

also, Wolfgang Peterson and David Benioff are adapting Ender's Game in 2008

Mom tells me a movie was made on Ayn Rand's Fountainhead in the 50s starring Gary Cooper. It would look good in a modern-day adaptation though, maybe have someone like Tom Hanks in the lead.

I would like to see The Bridge by John Skipp and Craig Spector made into a movie...if the right people did it it would be a nightmare from beginning to end, with no magic happy ending in sight. Definitely one of the easier-to-translate to screen stories, too.

Yes, there was a film made of Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead, and it was good, too.

Of course, thematically the novel is not the most commercial property for a movie adaptation (not enough stuff blowing up?) but I bet you could remake the film, maybe adding some zombies and video game graphics and maybe a rave party.

The one I have been waiting for:

The Talisman!!!!!!!!!!1

Co writers S. King and P. Straub.

This was a fantastic book, and because they make all of kings books into movies at some point, I gotta see this one!
