Well. . . I'm not sure whether I admire HB or not. I used to have a fairly short temper but about 10 or so years ago I got into it with a guy who'd bumped into me on the sidewalk and he pulled a gun (.380). I didn't get shot or anything - he just stuck it in my face and told me to "F--- Off" but it made me much less confronational.

I tend to agree with Urg on this one - I don't want to be the beligerent asshole so I choose the path of avoidance and peace. (and maybe some fear)

I dont do these things for admiration or honor, I do it because the lack of respect some people have for others is staggering and as long as I'm in the presence of it I will have something to say about it. I come on here and I joke around, and even get into arguments, but have no doubts if I were to meet any of the members of the board, I would have nothing but total respect for all of you until one of you or I were treated disrespectfully. And I treat strangers no differently.
You've got my total respect [he squeeks meekly as he slowly steps away. . . . ]

I still think its unnecessary...

And I don't believe that a theatre would back you once the cops came. I don't think that would matter to the cops, you'd still be arrested.

Assault is assault, it doesn't matter how you slice it.

And if you said she was your sister, they would have ID'ed her regardless.

My point is, how did you not get arrested for assault if you physically attacked a kid? I don't get it...

i'd have slipped out and got a theatre employee.
Does that make me a coward ?

nope ... i just protected my wife (and kid - because we mostly see kids movies as a family these days.)

i'm 6' 2" ... i can take care of myself .... but the other part of the equation is - i dont want to go to jail for assault either.

bottom line ... i try to be a responsible adult.
my only real fear is being apart from my family.

Another would be what your children think of you. If I had a kid I wouldn't want him to remember the time his daddy attacked some dude at a theatre.
