Yah, the twists in Vertigo are just crazy, over and over again.

Psycho also has a very excelent twist, if you don't already know it.

Both amazing films, but my favorite remains Rear Window.

I've only seen the remake of Psycho. But my uncle saw the original, and said the remake was almost exactly like the original. Vince Vaughn did good as Norman Bates.

No offense, but how would you know Vince Vaugn made a good Norman Bates if you haven't seen the original? Vince Vaugn made a terrible Norman Bates in a horrible remake of a classic.

It was an almost identical shot for shot remake, which made it absurd. What was the point? There was absolutely no attempt at original direction; it took the story absolutely nowhere new and the original simply could not be duplicated (and it really shouldn't have been attempted, I expect more from Van Sant). The original is a much better film. The remake was completely pointless, just ridiculous when compared to the original and the acting is mediocre at best (sadly, Vaughn was the best thing about the film). Such a disappointment when you consider the sheer amount of talent involved in the movie.

But that is just one opinion.....:D

I meant he did a good job being all paranoid and stuff.

I need to see that remake...

For the life of me I can see V V playing that role

scoville 07-13-2005 07:35 PM

Strangers On A Train
Notorious
Vertigo
Rope
North By Northwest

not necessarily in that order.

RoLLiNLiGhTs 07-14-2005 04:40 PM

No doubt, Rear window...and North by northwest...

Alfred Hitchcock is the greatest director of all time. Fact!

My fave Hitch film - Rear Window

But also consider,

Psycho
North By Northwest
Suspicion
The Lodger
Frenzy

I really didn't like The Trouble With Harry much. That's the only Hitchcock film I've never watched to the end. There's a few I haven't seen but I've seen 28 of his films.
