Overrated.
I don't get why movies like this one and The Babadook get so much praise.
Sure they look good but the scripts are weak.
"But you gotta use your imagination..." Fuck that and explain some stuff, you lazy sods.

Saw Poltergeist.

There was nothing wrong with it that isn't wrong with just about every movie these days. Production quality was good (except the CGI! God, it was ps2 Silent Hill quality). Could have been written a little better, but I'm usually picky in that area. It was acted pretty well I guess, but again it could've been better.

BUT!

The Gallows.

Saw this trailer when I saw Poltergeist today. This looks like it could be one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Let Us Prey (2014)

A mysterious stranger (Game Of Thrones smuggler/pirate dude) ends up in police station and things start to happen.

Cool British flick.
Not great but quite alright and entertaining enough.
Some action, right amount of blood, bit of gore and a slice of insanity.
A bit vague but it wasn't bothering.

So.... not enough gore for you?
I remember thinking during the scene where the toy goes into the portal looked like a video game lol

I haven't seen It Follows, but The Babdook is very overrated. Big disappointment.

Hot Girls Wanted

The documentary follows 4 girls, one more than the rest, as they start in the porn industry at 18/19 years old. I'm not sure how I feel about the film. Not the subject matter, but the presentation. It was too small of a sample to be definitive and it wasn't focused enough on the affect, or lack of affect, being amature porn actresses had on them. I guess I felt it was too much the surface and not more of the reality. Still for most people my guess is its a bit shocking. I don't expect it to be easy to be an amateur, and I wouldn't assume it to by anything. Just this doc doesn't show enough or focus enough to express any sentiment strongly enough.

I'll post my thoughts on Insidious: Chapter 3 later tomorrow, but spoiler alert: it was fucking scary.
