Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007)
http://www.halloweenmovies.com/graph...heet_small.jpg Well..as a Rob Zombie film, I think it was ok; but as a remake of one of the all time top rated classic horror it's flawed. To me, Zombie did at his best and I couldn't expect nothing more than that from him. I haven't seen the sequels of the Original one, so I'm not sure whether he did very extensive work with the story or not. Moreover, Carpenter's original Halloween score in this remake I think didn't fit with some scenes. Btw, the girl played Laurie Strode did terrible work. >>: B- |
Curse of El Charro - Decent plot. Poorly executed.

Return to the House on Haunted Hill
Rather bad acting, and some nice boobies just wasn't enough to make up for it. 5/10 |

This was okay, but I'm beginning to think that I'm just not a huge fan of Cronenberg films. From what I've seen, they're all good, but not great. This was acted well, but the storyline was a little confusing and the gore was average at best. C 3:10 to Yuma (Original) This was a pretty entertaining film. The acting was good and the story was simple, yet great. I liked the ending because it gives closure to the tale at hand, but not to the entire story overall. One thing that didn't quite sit right was the look of the gang of outlaws. Way too handsome for a gang of thugs. Overall, this was entertaining. B- |

Next Stop Wonderland, Brad Anderson’s first movie. Funny that this is the guy who did Session 9. Great romance film, though. Very good stuff.

30 Days of Night.
Having read the original limited series/graphic novel I was apprehensive, however good the trailers looked. One thing about this film, is that the acting is not brilliant...but that makes for little issue in a film of this type - it wasn't appalling, just not award winning stuff. The rest of the movie however, was pretty well done I thought. Of course, it seems that having someone on board with first hand experience in the creative process of the original comic series served well again, as per sin city, the atmosphere of the comic story came alive. The vampires were a different breed than what we're used to seeing, similar to the comic, and the events, while somewhat altered in parts actually fit together into what I'd call a pretty good adaptation. I've just recently seen Daywatch, and where I love it for it's differences and weirdness, I think that out of the two vampire films I've seen lately, 30D.O.N I enjoyed more. |
