The Exorcist (1973)

The only movie still capable of literally scaring me. It's horrifying, no matter how many times viewed; not only is it terrifying, but it's crisply acted, and its less supernatural tones are just as interesting as the horror story.

Spiderman 3 - 5/10
The CGI was over the top. The Sandman was a lame villain. Venom was cool, but not enough to save the film. I expected more from Raimi.

Planet Terror

Amazing movie of the Grindhouse flick. Gory, funny, action packed, and just straight in your face adreneline that will make you laugh and cringe. So much fun for the Halloween season.

Severance

This was a welcome breath of fresh air. The gore & humor were great, the acting was solid, the plot was a bit unoriginal, but overall this one entertains from start to finish. Just be ready for some thick British accents, I had to watch it with subtitles on just to make sure I was hearing everything correctly.

Well that's a relief ! I've seen so many people on here who didn't like it at all, I thought I was the only one who loved it.

I have yet to see Severance. Now I might check it out.

Damn the 10 character limit. Those '...' to increase the character limit up to 10 makes it seem as if you didn't like the film listed before them.

Kill Bill...
meh.

^ An example. I love Kill Bill.

From Beijing with Love - old Stephen Chow movie, just as over the top and ridiculous as the others, really very funny.

For some reason I just have not watched it until today, and man I wanna slap myself for that. The movie was awesome, but.... is it weird that I was turned on by the lizardwoman dancing?

Happy Feet

I've seen it before, but I'm still quite impressed how such a strong anti-religion, pro-science and pro-conservation film was such a hit. Sure the pop songs are silly, and the ending is a little simplistic, but the action sequences are strong and the themes are quite subversive such such mainstream cinema.

The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward John Ford (2007)

In one year, Casey Affleck will be one of the most popular actors in Hollywood. I guarantee it. The casting in this movie was literally flawless, and it's easily the most stylish film of the year. Brilliant.

American Gangster (2007)

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Pure gangster fun, and almost on par with last year's The Departed. Almost. Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington are smoother than hell. Highly recommended.

Fully agree with you. Washington did splendid job on the role of Frank Lucas. And yeah...there is pure gangster fun but it's not a common action flick. Thus it never drags.

My Belated Halloween movie festival

For the very first time I have been able to see these great classics:

George A. Romero's Night of the living Dead (1968) Color version

http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/63/30/48m.jpg

As a new horror movie freak like me undoubtedly agree that no one could make a such classic presentation and develop this sub-genre like George Romero did almost 40 years ago. Its definitely worth of Horror-Oscar.

Dario Argento's Suspiria (1977)

http://www.dvdspot.com/covers/2/1260904073.jpg

Purely Chilling atmosphere..brilliant set design..spectacular cinematography and nonetheless, Goblin's excellent scores made this one a true classic and proved what a magnificent director Argento was.

John Carpenter'sHalloween (1978)

http://www.dvdspot.com/covers/5/1530230073.jpg

After waiting for so many days, YES!! I'm truly feeling very great and lucky to see this classic at last. And now it's clear to me how historically it highly influenced the genre.
