Ghost Ship had potential to being great.

The movie started out fine, It just got worse as the movie goes on.

The ending made me wished I didn't watch it at all.

100% agreed.;)

"P S 2" or "Ghost Ship"? Christ..that's like a choice between a turd sandwich and a shit sandwich.

"Henry P.O.A.S.K. 2" - Not bad, at least it was serious and had a few gory moments. But it lacked the power of the first. Pointless, as I thought, but not a bad watch for the cheap price.

urgeok 03-26-2005 03:42 AM

saw Shutter last night ..

ok ... i'm getting pushed over the edge .. this was a Thai film .. not Japanese, not Korean ..

whats with the all the wet ghost girls ?!!!
as usual another mystery to solve ..

it was a well done film .. and if i hadnt seen Ringu, the Eye, Dark Water, Phone , etc etc etc first - i probably would have enjoyed this a lot more.

it still had some neat little origional twists but ... wow whats with the wet dead girls ... whats with long wet black hair ?

I was thinking there must be some kind of cultural significance .. but now i dont know.

42ndStreetFreak 03-26-2005 03:49 AM

It's like what I said it was weeks ago and got blasted for....it's an overused cliche in the current dull Asian horror market of copy-cat movies. :o

The_Return 03-26-2005 04:28 AM

I havnt posted on this in awhile...heres what I watched the past few days, in order:

Guns of Diablo- Decent western, but nothing special. Kinda cool seeing Kurt Russel as a kid tho

The Shooting- For the most part, this was a pretty run of the mill western. Jack Nicholson was great as always. But the thing that blew me away was the ending. Sure, it was pretty obvious how the movie would end...but they way they did it. Damn, great ending.

Spencer: A Savage Place- Ive never read any of Robert Parker's Spencer novels...but I might have to start. This is the second Spencer movie Ive seen, and it was pretty good! Urich is great

Shaft [2000]- Ive never seen the original ones, but I really enjoyed this version. Samuel L. Jackson was great...only thing I didnt like was I couldt understand a damn thing Peoples said:p

Evil Dead- Shamefully, this is the 1st time Id seen this. But it was worth the wait! Great movie, loved it. Gore was pretty cheesy in some part, not that Im complaining:D

hmmm thought that was a stinker.....maybe I give it a chance :)

urgeok 03-27-2005 04:35 AM

Last nite I watched the origional Invaders From Mars, which in my opinion was crap compared to the remake.

then i watched The Story of Ricky ...
I really enjoyed this film .. it was outrageous !! insane goofy gore - what you'd expect from early Raimi or Jackson.
This is what i wish all ultra gore movies were like....

AUSTIN316426808 03-27-2005 06:05 AM

Shutter- good movie the only problem is I've seen it about 3 times already, Asian horror is no different from the rest in the sense that it's the same stuff over and over.

It was a well made film though.

42ndStreetFreak 03-27-2005 01:26 PM

"Resident Evil:Apocalypse" - VAST improvement over the first film and it played pretty faithful to the spirit computer games (Nemesis was perfect!).
Lots of action, lots of zombies some unexpectedly staged deaths...good stuff. And in fact watched right after #1, it improves that film a great deal.
Good, high tech, slam bang entertainment..nothing more nothing less, why the moans? At least it didn't feel the need to call itself "Dawn of the Dead"!

"GI Samurai" - the full original version of "Time Slip". Top notch Japanese action/sci-fi/fantasy.
For those interested in the differences in the new extended DVD it's all here: http://www.beardyfreak.com/rvgi.htm
