Evil Aliens & Tales From the Darkside: The Movie

Both good fun with everything from killer cats, alien babies, sutffing wounds with flowers, and rototiller killings.

Dead Silence ~ considering how much I dislike Saw, I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this......but overall, I enjoyed it. Some of the special effects I wasn't crazy about and it reminded me of quite a few other movies, but it was decent.

2000 Maniacs ~ fun, though less graphic than I was expecting.

the_real_linda 10-09-2007 07:26 AM

lol how graphic did ya want

daywatch... better than the first imo

Well, I have heard a lot about Lewis, and how over the top his films are. This was the first one I have seen, and it really wasn't so bad. Or maybe I have just seen too many horror films? :p But for the time, I guess it was pretty graphic, I didn't realize before watching it that it was made in the mid '60s. I was thinking '70s.

the_real_linda 10-09-2007 08:40 AM

yeah it aint that graphic but lol we have all seen one too many horror films... gore dosent really do it for me but i still enjoy it lyk some of the stuff in wrong turn 2... just a nice amount me thinks... no need to overdo it, but if you are going to splatter it off the camera :D

Marnie. (Alfred Hitchcock)

Interesting for the most part, but the ending was a bit bland, and it had some surprisingly bad acting, some from otherwise great actors (especially the leads, Tippie Hedron and Sean Connery, should have been gold...)

28 Weeks Later

This was very good. I was a big fan of the first one and this was a worthy sequel. Fast paced, gory, good storyline, good acting. Not quite as beautifully shot as the original, but still some very nice, artistic cinematography. If you liked the original, consider this a must see.

B+

Wrong Turn 2: Dead End

This was another very worthy sequel. I'm not sure why they released it straight to DVD because I'm sure this would have done okay in theatres. It's a theatre quality film. The acting is good, including Henry Rollins and Kimberly Caldwell. The gore is abundant and good, the story is pretty cool. The only thing I thought original outshined this one on was the characters actions and reactions. In the first film, I felt like the characters did everything that anyone would have done in their situations. In this film, there were a few points where I was asking myself why they would do that. All in all, this was very good. If you liked WRong Turn, you'll like this.

Samuel L. Jackson loves his five minute performances. I especially liked his brisk showing in Deep Blue Sea.

Yeah, that movie just absolutely sucked ass. There was nothing good to say about it at all. Easily Shyamalan's worst work.
