You know, saying things like that about children's movies could be tricky, you gotta watch what you say, an example, if I said the same thing about Home Alone I'd be banned faster than Steve Irwin got pwn3d by that stingray.

Scream 2....

Disease 09-14-2007 01:36 AM

Die Hard 4, 6.5 / 10 It would have been better without the sidekick, I like it when John McClain talks to himself.

Watched this last night actually.

I also watched House of Wax. really should have turned it off as soon as I realized how bad Paris Hilton's acting was. Oi.

agreed

Just watched "The Condemned".

didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised. 7.5/10

nocturne 09-14-2007 08:54 PM

Dead Silence

Enjoyed it quite a bit, I was pretty surprised.

Roderick Usher 09-14-2007 08:57 PM

Casino Royale

felt the same the second time around. Craig is a kick-ass Bond and the first half of the film is impressive as hell, but it grinds to a brutal halt during the Texas Hold 'Em sequences. I've seen more genuine drama on "Poker With The Stars."

6.5/10

Kane_Hodder 09-14-2007 09:45 PM

Bram Stoker's Dracula. Totally entertaining because of Gary Oldman and Anthony Hopkins, but has a very disappointing Keanu Reeves. Overall, good.

Dead Alive.
The Omen With Director, Editor Commentary.

Willow. Nice take on the legend but the climax falls a bit flat.

The Devil's backbone

I found it extremely similar to pan's labrynth, not just the direction which would be expected but the characters and the way the story played out even. Really enjoyable movie, not as scary as I hoped but still a great movie. Liked it a lot more than pan's labrynth actually, so if you liked that movie you should check this out too.

Amalthea_unicorn 09-16-2007 04:25 AM

Black Cat White Cat 10/10

SamCostello 09-16-2007 06:06 AM

The King of Kong, a great documentary about competitive classic video gaming and the rivalry between very different men over the world’s record high score on Donkey Kong. Great movie.

That was a killer blow to what could have been a decent, enjoyable movie.

National Lampoon's Dorm Daze 2, fucking stupid.

Yeah, I didn't expect to much from it anyway, at least Hillary Swank was looking pretty hot, the camera followed her chest and ass a hell of a lot....

jenna26 09-16-2007 09:13 AM

Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon ~ really enjoyed this film, very smart, very funny. At first, honestly, I thought it was a horrible idea, but it won me over pretty quickly.

The Burning ~ finally got to see this, and it was what I expected. A decent slasher, not brilliant, but fun, with some good death scenes.

Body Snatchers ~ it wasn't bad, not great, but entertaining enough I guess. Still a creepy damn story though. All of the remakes of this particular story at least have that going for them.

Just seen The Descent. What an incredible stupid movie. They should imprison ppl for making this crap! First off, cool car accident (too bad for the lil girl), 6 woman going hiking in caves. Pretty cool storyline, until the first "monster" shows up. I mean, wtf was that all about? First of all, I know IT'S A MOVIE, but how can you possibly mutate into something like that? (presuming these creatures were once human and started generations of inbreeding). I thought it was about some cool creatures like in "The Cave" (a giant bat or pterodactyl flying piece of shit creature :D). And all of a sudden two of those woman start killing off a few of these creatures. "Oh yeah, apparently we're stronger then these creatures. I've killed 3 already. How bout you, Juno?" FFS!! *annoyed* And what was with the ending??? Sarah got out of the cave THROUGH A DIFF EXIT and he manages to trace back to the car. You should get fucking lost in those woods imo! But hey, it's movie, anything is possible, so why don't create a movie with Santa Claus turning into The Blob? What a great tearjerker that would be! THE DESCENT: 1/10

IMO, one of the best movies I've seen in a while. It was clever. The crawlers weren't meant to be scary on their own, it was how the dark played tricks on the climbers and also on the viewers that made it scary. Having people turn on eachother in a time of panic is also a classic theme in horror. I wouldn't have expected any less from Neil Marshall. As for the ending, make sure to see the UK ending. Find it on youtube, anywhere you can cause it was better. Lastly, the crawlers weren't spawned from inbreeding, it was evolutionary change. (Their ears growing bigger like bats to they can use ecolocation to move around etc.)

Annnywayyy, watched Resevoir Dogs this morning. Loove love love Steve Buscemi.

Let me get this straight...you thought The Descent was stupid and The Cave was cool? Way to go...

The Burning. Excellent slasher.

I said I thought the creature was cool in The Cave, not the entire movie.

1408--i've seen worse.

The original? Man, who knew ARichard Donner was godamn funny? That is one of my favorite commentaries, ever.

I just watched Dead Silence again. Still really like it. Its actually more entertaining the second time through, you catch lots of hints that are practically invisible the first time around.

Vodstok 09-17-2007 05:10 AM

Also finished Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte. Smart, and pretty damn brutal for the day (you get up close and personal when Bruce Dern gets his hand hacked off with a cleaver, copmplete with blood and bones, not bad for b&w)
