i watched re-animator at this drive/music/punk/rockabilly festival we have every year here in atlanta.

i couldn't think of a better place to view this movie again as w/ a thousand rowdy punks, a paps in my hand, lying in the back of my car.

Watched INFERNO earlier today. So pretty. So illogical. I really dig it.

Did you know Argento's releasing the final film in his so called "Witch" trilogy at the Toronto Film Festival right now? I can't wait to see it...it's called La Terza madre (aka Mother of Tears, or The Third Mother).

Anyway, if it's like its prdecessors, Suspiria and Inferno, I'm so down.

Yeah, it stars Asia...so I'm there:D

3:10 To Yuma

the western is alive and well

_____V_____ 09-07-2007 09:26 PM

Hatchet. 08/10

This is a movie which should be billed "a complete horror experience". Largely on the veins of a slasher with doses of black humor thrown in...with some really great performances and superb, pacy direction...this is one movie you should NOT miss. At all.

One called "chain of fools".
Got the dvd months ago for $2AUD, and it's just been sitting here.
Surprisingly watchable comedy...

The Usual Suspects (1995)

Utterly predictable, and sloppily acted. Spacey really won an Academy Award for this? I wasn't impressed.

Roderick Usher 09-08-2007 03:38 PM

HATCHET

tons of fun. It ain't rocket science, but it's a blast...and there is a grand total of ZERO digital effects...everything is practical and in-camera. A good time for fans of slashers.

8/10

missmacabre 09-08-2007 05:38 PM

House of 1000 Corpses. The 70s vibe in that movie still freaks me out. It's either too short or too rushed at the end though.

You didn't like Perfume????

I LOVED that film. A beautiful, creepy, period costume thriller by one of the best directors working today!
9/10

The Warrior and the Princess

Tom Tykwer is one of my favorites and this one is a great, weird little romance that is anything but traditional.

8/10

It was a brutal film, IMO. It captured such a base(I can't think of the proper definition here) of human existance. The 'almost execution' scene was truly disturbing, I found it harder to watch than most slasher scenes in a horror movie.
I have a very, VERY low tolerance for anything emotional with babies now that I've popped out three...it's a hormone thing;) and so, since that was the was way the whole movie STARTED , I was pretty much ruined for the rest of the film.

Encounter with the Unknown (1973) - trio of spooky stories supposedly based on fact. Narrated by Rod Serling. I saw this about a million years ago and located a copy on video. I gotta tell ya, it works!

Life is a Miracle (2004) 10/10

horrorchic 09-09-2007 07:05 AM

Last seen horror flick is Rose Red. Eh... It's Stephen King. Right before that I watched Toothfairy. For a not overly advertised film it was pretty good. The story was a little basic, the graphics were decent, but still not comparable to any big names. Also I saw Nosferatu the 1970 rendition. It was... well Nosferatu.

alkytrio666 09-09-2007 09:00 AM

It Happened One Night (1934)

Flawlessly acted and directed, boasting an outrageous storyline with a superb sense of humor. Academy Awards well-deserved.

Hannibal Riseing, 7/10 I thought this was pretty damn good...

Sleepy Hollow, 8/10 I hadn't seen it for 7 years, I had forgot how good it is.

Letters from Iwo Jima, 6.5 / 10

It is interesting to see Clint Eastwoods representaion of the other sides story, not bad, but a little slow for a war movie ..

De Niro acted like a dick head in that... Why does John Polson make such bad movies when he was such a great actor?????

Zero 09-09-2007 12:09 PM

just watched 300 - probably should have seen it on the big screen but, to be honest, i thought it was crap

jenna26 09-09-2007 01:43 PM

Bridge to Terabithia ~ a good family film, I loved the book when I was a kid, and they did a pretty good job with it.

Grudge 2 ~ nothing special, but watchable I suppose.

missmacabre 09-09-2007 02:13 PM

Watched The Devil's Rejects last night for the second time. I didn't like it as much as House of 1000 corpses, but I did like it better than the first time around.

Then today i watched Cube Zero and I loved it. So glad everything from the original was cleared up, especially the end. The opening scene was so bad ass, too.

about halfway through the Host. So far, I love it. I had no idea it was supposed to be funny, but I have been laughing my ass off, and the monster is great, very original.
