This is one of those that I think is actually pretty underrated. Its a tad heavy on the melodrama and can at times be almost ridiculously over the top......;) but really, I think it is one of the few movies that really tried hard to stay true to the spirit of the book(which is my favorite of all time). Admittedly, it doesn't always work, but I think its pretty good, if not great.

Superbad. 10/10. I've never laughed so hard in my entire life. Nor have I heard so many penis jokes.

Pretty funny. It could have been funnier with all those great comedians.

The Number 23

This could have been such a great film:mad:

Geddy 08-23-2007 11:19 AM

Clerks 2 with kevin smith, scott mosier, jason mewes, Jeff Anderson, Brian O'Holloran, and the guy who played Elias commentary.

Dante'sInferno 08-23-2007 06:17 PM

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.Great movie.

jaybomb 08-23-2007 07:36 PM

alien vs. peredator wasn't impressed with this movie, don't see the point for a part 2 if they ever get around to it. die hard III great action movie, love the die hard series

Roderick Usher 08-23-2007 11:16 PM

Almost really good. Splendid art direction and a loving tribute to the Diabolik/Barabaraella style of Italian produced fumetti adaptations from the 60s. Even has John Phillip Law in a small role.

7/10

re-re-see romero's new dawn of the dead from zack snyder.
neither a great one, nor a bad one but the psychology of being-aware-of-death-is-inevitable is well shown in the movie. As a matter of fact, it's in the nature of all zombie movies; total chaos, fear and power-freaks... the loss of govermental authority, absolute anarchy. I don't know Romero but I think he is a little bit anti-anarchist, may be a communist :)

IndustrialKitty 08-24-2007 02:20 AM

Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon .... pretty good even if it was predictable.

And even though its not horror i saw Gummo tonight as well along with some documentary about an anthropologist who lived with some cannibals in peru for 7 months i cant remember the name though its slipped my mind.

Disease 08-24-2007 05:54 AM

Ok, there has been a few in the last week, my Flatmates keep buying shit dvds, and I end up watching them when I get bored enough.
Let's see, there was

Snakes on a plain, This actually realy fucking cool, you gotta see it. 7/10

Rocky Balboa, pretty pathetic, but it did inspire me to make some kick ass pasta. 4/10

Apocalypto, I was a bit dissapointed I thought it was going to be more brutal, it was still very well made though and pretty non stop. 7/10

Nightmare on Elm st 2, This is one of my faveorites of the seiries, I love the pool party scene. 7/10

Nightmare on elm st 4, The end of this one used to realy gross me out when I was a kid. 6/10

Nightmare on elm street 6 (Freddys Dead), One of the worst of the series, the only saveing grace is the insight into Krugger before he was burnt, Alice Cooper was cool though. 4.5/10

The Birds, I watched it with my girlfriend who hadn't seen it before, which always is a good way to revisit horror movies. 7/10

The Fugitive, Harrison Ford being Harrison Ford, i prefered U.S Marshalls. 6/10

Kane_Hodder 08-24-2007 08:25 AM

Halloween original.

The Mothman 08-24-2007 02:19 PM

Tideland
strange, twisted, well done, but rather boring.

Doc Faustus 08-24-2007 02:55 PM

it's not a suspenseful psychological thriller or horror movie...it's just a tragic drama of two people who inspire each other's paranoia-fueled delusions!

Welcome to the club. My wife, buddy & I popped in Finding Nemo immediately after we watched it. Aren't you glad you just had to see what all the fuss was about? ...Me neither.

I've been watching Deadwood season 3 & Weeds season 2 (Both fabulous.)lately so I haven't seen as many movies the past few weeks as I normally do.

Alpha Dog

This was better than I'd expect from a flick starring Justin Timberlake, but worse than I was led to believe it'd be from this guy I work with who highly recommended it to me. The acting was fine, the violence was okay, but the thing I really couldn't get over was the main bad kid. Couldn't they have found someone other than 150 pound white kid with terrible facial hair to play the supposed up and coming drug dealer? I just didn't believe that any of the characters would be taking orders from this clown.

It was alright, but nothing I'd recommend. There are better films in this crime-drama genre.

Vacancy

This is a weird one to try to grade because there were a few things I really loved, and a few I really hated. The concept was pretty original and Luke Wilson & Kate Beckinsale act great, but the ending was lacking and a bit cliche and the lead bad guy was a total dork which makes it hard to believe he could have successfully killed so many people without one of them killing his ass.

Young Frankenstein (1974)

It simply never gets old. Mel Brooks, Gene Wilder, and Madeline Kahn are such a dangerously hysterical combination.
