So the pigs lead the animals into taking over the farm from the farmer. Both end with the pigs becoming like the autocratic, cruel decadent farmer. The book highlights this fact, many years after the revolution, the pigs have other farmers come over to party with them, and they look and act the same as the farmers. Whereas the film has the oppressed animals busting in on the pigs and destroying them. What happens after the pigs are destroyed is not addressed. Per wiki, the CIA sponsored a party to buy the film rights, make the film and change the ending.

Sounds like I would prefer the movie. I read the book in high school and was disappointed by the ending. I don't give a fuck if the story is symbolic, I WANT TO SEE THE FUCKING PIGS SUFFER FOR THEIR CRIMES. My poor Boxer... 8(

Fascinating and funny film. I missed any other announcements. How are we to see this at 6pm Sat?

Look for the Angle Witch Movie Theatre in the social groups list,or just visit me, Myers, repo'd, dead bad things, and dead beat at dawn's profiles and look at the groups we've joined.

NOTE: You do not have to join the group to watch the films.

LOL! Hell ya! You're too cool, Roiffalo! The film is more cathartic, for sure. ::big grin:: I think Orwell's book ending highlights 'the job is never done' because of how 'absolute power corrupts absolutely' overriding any political system or specific mortal leaders.

I joined the group. But I mean, do we just watch the film on youtube? We commenting live somewhere?

We have the films rigged like this.

So you can watch and post comments at the same time.

I'm very sad today. My friends' son has been missing since March 5th. This morning, they pulled his body from the river. I was really hoping Joey wasn't dead. ::sad::

This is an animated film from the 1970's.
It's about the war between technology and magic. Also has WWII as it's bases. I hope you will enjoy it. I hope it will make up for The Warriors film that I was wanting to run this Saturday.
Here's the trailer.

Jesus, I am so sorry. What a hell of an ordeal for your friend. Just terrible news.

Thanks, I try. ::big grin::
I'm sure it does. That book/movie has honestly been a buzzkill for so many animal lovers though. My mother and I included. When I was in high school working in the library I found out we actually HAD the movie. It looked like the sunshine and rainbows cover of Babe, so I wasn't surprised when a kid borrowed it and after watching it with his family brought it back traumatized. I doubt they even finished the movie. Needless to say that movie's carded for audience now.

I think I saw you post about that on FaceBook. I'm so sorry for your friend. I can't even imagine the pain the boy's family are going through right now. I hope he didn't suffer. 8(
