Did ya notice the ambulance wrecked by the tree at the Springfield Gorge from "Bart The Daredevil"? Did ya?
But my choice, foul/hard fucking language. |
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
One of the most monumental and perfect movies of the last 25 years. Spectacular in each and every way, and totally engrossing. Every bit as good as the Stephen King novella. |

Disturbing? Do you find your own penis disturbing? I hate that ANYONE would have this reaction. Homer gouging his eye with a hammer is fine just please don't ever make me view a penis. This attitude that anything sexual is somehow more offensive than anything violent makes me rather ill. I LOVED that they showed Bart's privates. It was innocent and silly. They showed an undefined, little, yellow, CARTOON penis...and the way they introduced it was hilarious. I'd like to see a lot more penis shots in mainstream film, just to get people over this knee-jerk reaction to seeing one. |

Tamara ~ a somewhat promising start, but veers into generic teen "horror" very quickly....completely wimps out. A couple of good deaths though.
Close Your Eyes ~ Doesn't always work, but overall, pretty good, and creepy. Wasn't crazy about the end. But up until that point, a very interesting film. And two favorites..... Taxi Driver The Usual Suspects |
Superbad-Super fucking awesome.

The Desperate Hours (1955)
Very well acted and shot, and the finale was great, but the whole thing felt dull around the edges. |

Caught Identity on TV pretty decent film, I enjoyed it.

Superbad (2007)
It's supergood. I was surprised about how vulgar it was. I enjoyed Knocked Up more, but this is a definite second to this year's best comedies. |

Blood Ranch ~ this idea has been done much better by other movies; predictable, and really kind of a bore.

For the record, i was being a little tongue in cheek about bart's penis, I didnt realise i would start a debate :)
That being said, I am no fan of wang beyond my own. If that makes me a prude, the oh well. I am certainly not against nudity in film, and I am not for it. Freedom of expression says show all the tits, ass and weiner you want, so go nuts. just dont give me shit for blowing off limbs in mine. (not that anyone here has, that was just a general statement) I have been holding on to Bad Taste for about a week, waiting for an opportunity to watch it. |

Popcorn (1991)
I've honestly never even heard of this one before. I saw it listed on the my streaming horror channel (I'm in love with it), and checked it out. Wasn't breath-taking, but it was entertaining - which was what I was looking for. I really dig movies set at theatres. Something about the atmosphere. The films showcased in this movie had me wondering if they were infact real. I know there were similiar films, and similiar gags used during those film runs - did they just parody them here? Or are these films actually out there, as-shown? The twist and ending as a whole sort of left me underwhelmed, but with such a corny premise I wasn't expecting anything great. To my surprise, I was most entertained not during the deaths or the 'tense' moments, but during the film festival preperations and the audience's reactions. 6/10 |

Well........I remember when it came out and I loved it. Back then, I was really into Kenneth Branagh. After watching it last night.......I don't know, it's OK I guess. It's the same with any movie really: different people will have different opinions. I say watch it and tell me what YOU think. |
