Totally agree with what's being said about the 2000s too... I really didn't enjoy throwing my 90s list together, it felt kind've weak compared to other eras, especially after the first 10 or so movies, but the 2000s is a much stronger era and despite a lot of Hollywood trash it still has plenty of depth and some genuine quality.... Will get my list finished over the next few days.

I've sent my list.

I have to say that my absolute favourite movie from this era (and of all time) (Edit: meant to say one of my favouites of all time) wasn't on the master list... "Rose Red"! "The Gravedancers" was another obvious choice for me that wasn't on the list... but obviously there's been a crazy amount of horror movies made in the last 12 years!!

I agree, by the way - a lot of good movies to choose from. Even if I don't always like the newest "trends". It's really only the 90s that I didn't like much.

I'll back:
Henry: Portrait of a Serial KIller
The Fly
Predator
Pet Sematary
The Fog
The Howling
Sleepaway Camp
The Beyond

It's in the list.

Thanks for submitting your entry.

Big thanks to everyone for your inputs regarding the 80s. We now have THREE more films joining the final chosen 20, which takes our tally to 15.

We need to finalise FIVE more.

Keep the inputs/opinions coming.

Even given the amount of crap, driven by the fact so many films in total were produced, the best of the best reveal something I personally found shocking- horror is back, and with a vengeance. Some of the best horror movies ever made come from the past 12 years.

If you eliminate the constant stream of inferior remakes, really bad direct to video drek, American remakes of foreign films, and such... the intelligent viewer can find a lot to like. I cut a lot of really good films from my list of 22.

The re-emergence of supernatural storylines, over slashers, is a contributing factor, IMO, as is the amount of quality international films, especially Asian cinema.

Horror is back on track, after some dismal times.

Well said. I couldn't agree more. It's a good time to be a horror fan.

......

For the 80s, for now I'll back:

Basket Case
Videodrome
Cannibal Holocaust

Yep. That's why It was not a part of the 90s Master List.

----------------

We have found our 16th chosen one from the 80s. Still need to finalise 4 more.

The Villain 06-23-2013 09:42 AM

Need to finalise TWO more.

realdealblues 06-24-2013 05:00 AM
