Can anyone remember this 70s / 80s horror film

Hi first post so sorry this is a bit vague.

I can recall watching what I thought at the time as being a good horror film about a young boy who became possessed. I think the boy was about 8-10 and had blonde hair (curly?).

I cant remember a great deal much more about the film, other then at one point the boy was playing outside with some stones with symbols / runes on them...

I was only about 8-10 myself when I watched the film and it was really scary so would like to revisit - just don't know the film...

Please can anyone help?

Need help.

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and hoping that somebody out there can help me out. This is going to sound a little vague but it is all I can remember.

I am looking for a horror tv series that I believe aired in the 80's. All I can remember is the title sequence or when it came back from commercial there was a tall structure (A rock or a building), and I think there were the letters of the show title either carved in the rock or on the building.

The only other thing I can remember is one episode where there were a couple kids playing in a real creepy dollhouse or maybe it was a full size house, it is hard to remember, and there was something to do with worms I do believe. They were either eating the worms or the worms were coming out of the kids. I remember the color in the scene seemed to have a bluish hue or tint to it. Like it was nighttime and the lighting was just bluish I believe.

I apologize for the lack on information to go on but this is all I can really remember which is why this show has been so hard for me to find. I definitely remember the tall stone or building in the title sequence and/or coming back from commercial.

If anybody has any ideas I more than appreciate it.

Sicknero 10-16-2013 04:38 AM

This one has the requisite building and is from 1980... it was ITV too so would have had commercials.

Hammer House of Horror

I don't remember the bit you describe but on the plus side there were only 13 episodes so wouldn't take long to find if it's there...

JohnTaper 10-16-2013 09:10 AM

I appreciate your help but unfortunately that is not the one.

I am trying to remember a little more details. It seems like the rock/building, was tall but I think it sat to the right of a road that went up to a house (maybe) in the background. The lettering on the stone stuck out. It may have been a big tombstone but I just don't know. The lettering seemed to stand out like the cover of the life of brian or the meaning of life. I wish I could remember more. I need to go into some hypnotherapy to find some lost memories, haha. This is killing me. The stone looked like this one except it was on the other side facing left instead of right like this picture.

I'm trying to find the name of an old horror film I saw when I was younger. It's about an older couple who live in a big eery house (maybe on a hill or cliff) and they take in young travelling girls. One girl discovers that the couple actually kill, cut up and eat the people they take in. They put their victim's body parts in food and feed it to the newcomers (I remember a scene cooking soup on the stove with maybe a foot in it). One girl tries to get away and is flagging down a car but it turns out to be the couple and they bring her back to the house.

This movie is quite old, probably 70's or earlier. Can anyone help me?!

That reminds me a lot of the Tales from the Dark Side episode, Anniversary Dinner. If that is "not" it, and it involved werewolves, then my second guess would be Terror at Red Wolf Inn. Hopefully one of these is what you are searching for.

Aka The Folks at Red Wolf Inn ... pretty sure you're right there anyway, I just watched it on Youtube.

Name of a film where someone feels like theres someone living in their house

Hey all,

I'm new to forums, but I wanted to know the name of a film. It was some sort of indie/foreign film that showed on HBO, Starz, Cinemax, or encore in somewhere from 2003-2007. It was about somebody who was selling their huge house and he starts feeling like someone is living inside the house, or something of the sort. If you could help me out, that'd be extra awesome treat for halloween.

Thanks!

Can you solve my double mystery?

Hello all!

I've had 2 films on my mind for several decades. Both seen in the late 1960s and I've been hoping to find them again.

1) A black and white vampire movie. The scene I remember most was that of a group of people, perhaps a family, barricaded in their Multi-story house. It is dark out and from the upstairs window they are looking out into the yard and nervously watching as several vampires are milling around the yard below. What stuck with me was that these vampires had what looked like wooden at stakes protruding from their chests as they roamed about the trees in the yard. They held he stake with one hand as they walked. I think they were all female.

2) A black and white film where in some sinister guy had what seemed to be something similar to a ventriloquist dummy which he carried in a coffin-like case. I remember a scene where he left this case at the door of an enemy. I forget how, but the case ended up inside the apartment, and at night the puppet got out and slowly approached a sleeping person while holding a long hat pin, which it ultimately sticks into the back of the victim's neck.

These two films have eluded me for a lifetime and have me beginning to wonder if I've dreamt them both.

Any thoughts? I'm guessing both were made in the early 50s.

gregorius 10-22-2013 07:08 PM

Hi all, what's this movie?
I saw it in the late 1970s. A pregnant woman gives birth in an ambulance. The newborn is alien and kills the mother and the ambulance attendants. At the end a man sees pregnant women everywhere and wonders if they too are carrying alien fetuses.

Thanks!

Hi everybody!
I was hoping you horror movie experts could help me out with this?
Does anyone know the name of the movie this image is from?
I'm pretty sure its obscure...because I haven't been able to find anything about it anywhere.:(
Thanks for any help, now I'm off to explore this awesome forum!

What movie is this?

Hello,

I`m looking for a movie that I once saw, but can`t find the name anywhere altough serious efforts put in.

Maybe somebody here knows what is this?

Here is the description:
The movie follows a family who have just moved into a new house, I believe it`s in Australia and they have 1 kid. The house is isolated, and quite countrysidish. There are these creatures that live underground, like a rockthrow away from the house. They are kind of like trodgolytes of some sorts, and there is also an old natives graveyard story attached. Sort of like "cursed ground" type of thing. I believe it`s made between 1995-2005, but it`s only a guess.

Anyone catches a clue? :)

horrorman 10-26-2013 11:51 AM

I know I asked about two movies here before, which I am "still" trying to identify, a TV show or movie (most likely a ghost reenactment show) where a ghost (ghost not spirit, it was visible, and looked like a regular human wrapped in a bluish sheet) visits a woman at night, most likely in a hotel or beach house, and a movie where a woman is seen cooking in her kitchen, and her face mutilates into a greenish color after she eats some pet food, probably a werewolf film, but also had Exorcist like features. However, there is one, I do not think I ever asked here, maybe I did, can't remember.

A high schooler is seen walking in a lonely classroom towards the front of the class, probably to talk to her instructor. As she is seen walking, the head of the instructor, probably not much older than she was, was seen flying in mid-air eventually landing on its headless corpse, which I remember was seen sitting down on the floor in front of the blackboard. Someone suggested, did not know for sure, the Amazing Stories episode, the Head of the Class, featuring Christopher Lloyd, but I saw it, and that is not it. It had a Nightmare on Elm Street atmosphere, and since I saw it in 1987-1990, it was most likely one of the earlier sequels. I saw all these films around the same time as each other.

Does anyone know what I am talking about? I know I did not make this up. I tried searching on the internet, but never could find anything.

Question about two movies

Hello there, on several occasions I've been bashing my head against the wall while trying to find two movies I rented back in 97-98 when I was in first grade. I remember scenes from both of them but every time I try to look for any of them-no luck. Both were pretty much low budget I guess, but I'm not sure.

The first one was about a couple that moved into an old house. The woman had a rose tattoo that disappears after she makes some deal with a reflection(hers?) in the mirror. After that I remember there was some sort of demon in the basement and a guy went there and started reading from a book and blowing a horn or a flute, apparently hurting the thing but after that the demon cuts his head with a single swing. After some ritual(probably at the end) a goat turned into a man. There was also a scene at the end where some old woman hits her son and screams :"The devil/Satan made me do it"

The second one was about a family in the countryside. At the begging the father is lying on a table and starts explaining what happened. There was a boy that was playing around and found a tree that was alive, and as far as I remember there was some sort of dust coming from it that was infecting people. The nanny was in her 40s and had curly black hair and the boy suspected she was one of the monsters and I think there was a scene where we see that she had tentacles or something. At the end they show the father again lying there and many people surround him, including the nanny ,apparently all of them infected.

I'd REALLY appreciate your help, naming these movies, thanks in advance.

Kandarian Demon 10-29-2013 04:35 PM

Hmm, the first one sounds familiar, but I just can't think of a title... I have a feeling it's something I've watched at some point. I will let you know if I remember.

The other one sounds like a movie I would love to see, so hopefully someone can help you find the title! ;)

Need help finding a film from the mid-00's

Hello,
Sometime around the mid 00's (2005-2007 perhaps), I saw a movie with a friend (who can't remember it at all) - it was in a non-english language, but with english subtitles.
The movie is about this guy who lives in an apartment, who has 2 nice looking female neighbors in the apartment next to his. During the mid of the movie, he was trying to hang out with them / doing normal people stuff, and you saw the movie through his eyes. Near the end of the movie, you then realize that there was no apartment next door to his, just a brick wall that he was scratching at. And those 2 girl neighbors were actually dead in his apartment the entire time. But in his eyes, everything seemed normal.
Thats all I can remember, other than that, I rented it from Blockbuster video in the 'new releases' horror section, and it had a "foreign film" sticker on it. I've been trying to figure out the name of this movie for a couple years now, and a friend said I should try posting on a horror movie forum :)

best regards,
- dinkc64

Lunaticsamurai, thanks for replying. That's not the one, although its a great movie nonetheless :)

Identify this Movie

I know there's a thread but I couldn't find it, didn't really look....mods feel free to move this...

Anyways, I think I may have asked about it before. Perhaps in here or elsewhere, but my search didn't yield any results.
It's kind've annoying me so I'll give it another shot.

Ok.

It's definitely a late 80's to early 90's film.
It would be under...hm...fantasy/adventure/comedy.
The setting was modern, it was a US made film.

I thought it was called "sub-something", maybe "under-something"

The main character in the movie was a guy that was maybe in his late teens.
The secondary character was a creature, walked somewhat upright but wasn't really humanoid - it was quite scruffy/hairy from what I can recall.
In my mind, it may have looked something like those things from the second Bill&Ted movie. Maybe.

The creature came from some kind of city/place that was underground.
I have a feeling that the movie actually had the same name as this place or whatever they referred to it as.

I think it was either trapped in the human world or something was wrong with its own.

I remember it being fascinated with shoes or shoelaces? Took the main characters shoe/s multiple times.
It may have "stolen" a few other things too.

I remember a scene at a police station.

I remember the poster/cover for this film had the main character leaning back to back with the creature - reminiscent of the cover of "little monsters" but with the human being taller than the creature.

...and that's it.

Elvis_Christ 11-08-2013 06:19 AM

Sounds like Upworld to me. Effects wiz Stan Winston is the director.

It's titled A Gnome Named Gnorm most places.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109912/?ref_=ttrel_rel_tt

cheebacheeba 11-08-2013 03:20 PM

Fuckin' hell, there you go...

I had the name mixed up, Now I remember "Upworld" was what the creature called earth right?

Ha, now I'm gonna download it.

Now that I've imdb'd it, I see the creature looks more like something from Dark Crystal.

Elvis_Christ 11-09-2013 06:09 AM

Yeah I'm gonna have to give it a download now that you reminded me off it. It coped a lot of shit back in the day but I remember diggin' it.

Trying to remember a movie

Okay sci-fi horror fans, I need your help. I'm looking for a movie that has a really disturbing scene that I saw as a kid and I don't know the title of the film. Basically a bad guy in a space station gets stuck in a laser cutting machine during a fight scene and it cuts his head off across his mouth. It was really gory, and I remember the bad guy getting up immediately. It was on daytime cable, one of the late 80's pay per view like CVA or First Choice.

Oh, on another note, you do not find out that it was an alien hiding as a human until the laser beam cuts the person's head off, whereupon it gets up immediately.

Edit: Twas Nightflyers. What I remembered and how the movie actually looks...yeesh! xD

Mr. Boogedy 11-10-2013 11:39 PM

What is this movie?

Can anyone help me find what this movie is that I have been looking for, for a while now and I can't seem to find out what it is anywhere on the internet... It's a movie from the mid-current 2000's. I really want to say 2008-2011ish... I saw a movie trailer for this horror movie a few times on tv (at the time) and I wanted to see it in the theater but never did and now I don't remember the name of the movie and cannot find it at all... it's as if it doesn't exist lol... mind you my memory is of only one very creepy part from the trailer so that might not help a lot.

NOW... All I remember from the movie trailer is a part where I believe a young woman was being chased through a house or down a hallway (at some point in the trailer) by a pale, naked, grandpa type creature who's body was all twisted and he was crawling after her pretty fast upside down... meaning his chest and stomach were facing towards the ceiling but his head was completely twisted around and facing forward so his chin would be lined up with his back. His arms and legs also twisted into a position of disgust too I believe, lol. Then after a few cuts in the trailer the woman runs/crawls up the stairs of the house a little ways and perhaps falls (I don't really remember) and then the grandpa creature crawls up after her and roars at her like a horror like him would be expected to - I think. Also I think the grandpa guy started out like a normal person in the trailer and then went nutz at the girl and twisted into this creature thing and gave chase... that's all I remember but it was very creepy and made me want to see the movie

I'm sorry that I have no more info but this is all I remember and it might not be totally right... And I swear to god the movie had a title similar to "Slither" or like a one word movie title because I remember the announcer saying it as one word but I could be completely wrong. Also it is not Slither, I have seen that movie ;)

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated :)

Edit: More Information... The creature in the movie I'm looking for looked very similar to this
http://images.wikia.com/creepypasta/...f_the_road.gif
However this not the movie I seek. This is the creature from the movie "Xtro" but the creature that I remember in the trailer of the newer movie that I'm looking for is very similar to the look of the Xtro creature from my memory... The naked grandpa creatures body was twisted around in this same form

jmax8713 11-11-2013 06:00 PM

What is this movie? I must know!

Hey horror fans, I beg you for your help. I have a vivid, almost hallucinatory memory of a particular scene from a horror movie. It was on TV and I saw it when I was a kid. It's burned into my memory. I can't figure out how to find out what the movie was!

Here's the scene: A man is drinking from a bottle, I believe a bottle of liquor. There is a small creature in the bottle, almost like a tadpole. Just as he's about to swallow it, it opens its eyes! He's so focused on chugging back the liquid that he doesn't notice the creature and swallows it.

Another scene that's haunted me, I believe from a different movie: A boy has to stay awake and guard his closet or a creature will come out and kill someone (his parents?). He's sitting there with a baseball bat, staring at the closet door. He nods off for a second and the creature appears: it's like a large, terrifying looking man with exposed flesh. The boy begs it not to hurt anyone but it says that it must.

Very creepy scenes, right? What are the movies? Someone must know!

Thanks

knife_fight 11-11-2013 06:29 PM

The first one is Poltergeist 2. The second one might be The Gate.

jmax8713 11-17-2013 05:53 AM

The search goes on...

Yes! The first one is Poltergeist 2.

But alas, no, the other scene isn't from The Gate!

Just watched Poltergeist 2. Not as good as the first one, but definitely memorable. That minister was the creepiest character I've seen in anything in a long time. And the whole sequence after Craig T. Nelson swallows the possessed worm and gives birth to the creature through his mouth! Ingeniously grotesques imagery!

I just watched The Gate as well, and it's an odd little movie. A revealing sample of 80s horror. Super Freudian. One of just a handful of horror movies that I can think of that has a kid protagonist. Thanks for directing me to it, but I still have to figure out the source of that one scene! I'm thinking it's from a horror movie from the '90s;something lesser known, maybe a sequel.

And there's ANOTHER scene, or rather image, from a movie that's been in my head for the longest time. Actually, it's so misty and far off in my memory that I can't remember if it's from a movie I saw, a TV show, or a dream I had. It's another movie with a kid protagonist, and it involves the ability to enter into paintings, or maybe one particular painting. There's the risk of getting lost in the paintings somehow. I remember you could tell that one character had gone into a painting because footsteps appeared in the landscape.

Help me out, fellas.

It sounds like something that could have happened in an episode of "Goosebumps" or a similar show.

Makes me think of maybe the Night Gallery TV movie...

Need help

I wonder if someone can help me. I saw a horror movie in the 70's with a father, mother, son and grandmother taking possession of this old home - not sure how it was left to them, and during their time there they were scared witless through spirits in the house, eventually leading to the death of the grandmother. They then wanted to leave and the house wouldn't let them, and the father and son tried to get away in their station wagon and were stopped before the gates of the house. Somehow, if memory serves me, they became a part of the household ghosts.

Anybody remember the name of this movie. please respond here or to my email

Thanks for your replies, but the search goes on.

#2 (closet monster) was too disturbing to have been an episode of Goosebumps. It was definitely a movie: that much I remember. I watched the trailer for Cameron's Closet (couldn't find the entire film streaming online) and I'm pretty sure it's not the right movie. The kid in the movie I remember was older, and the film's image quality was higher. It wouldn't be They; it would be a pre-2000 movie. I'm leaning toward 90s.

#3 (boy goes into painting) isn't Waxwork. I just watched it. (Tangent: Wow, so many 80s movies have characters who are horrible people! The rich brat protagonist here [seems like he's supposed to be a teenager, but he's played by the main actor from Gremlins, clearly in his mid-to-late 20s] tries to gets his maid to write his college papers for him, and he's supposed to be the sympathetic hero? All of the characters were obnoxiously sarcastic, contemptuous, letting off nonsensical remarks posing as one-liners...)
