Woo.

I got that all night with my clown costume. I even had to argue with someone when they said I was lying about it not being the Joker. Dark Knight has killed so many Halloween costumes...

Interestingly, whilst my friends were taking all the free beer they could get, I had developed a taste for the White Russians they were serving at the bar...that's why I look less shit faced than the rest of them.

My Log Lady costume:

My sister-in-law Emily, to my right, was Alma from Santa Sangre, and it was effing flawless. Her sister Liz was the Woman in the Radiator from Eraserhead, but unfortunately had lost her big cheeks.

I actually used to know Laurel Near when I lived in Eugene. She would find it hilarious people are dressing up as her for Halloween.

Omg that's awesome. I honestly thought her singing "In Heaven" was the most chilling thing I have ever seen. My brain's still a little fuddled because that movie was so good.

neverending 11-01-2009 11:07 PM

I used to drag people to that movie when it came around for midnight showings. Either they got it or they didn't speak to me for a long time afterwards....

I rented it from the library. Eraserhead 2000 The Lynch interview in the extras was amazing.

Anywho, my friend finally posted the pictures from our Halloween party.

We have Curt as Monty Python knight, Kim as Little Red Riding hood/the sound of Curtis' horse, Rachel and Travis as mustaches (?), Derek and I as a 1950's couple (he kept making funny wife beater jokes all night, really gets in character, I swear he doesn't beat me) Dara and Freddy and Colin as Jason.

actually you can't blame them:D...personally I don't dare to recommend this movie to anyone here I know; may be I'm wrong but I think there's very hard to find a viewer who has the mental capacity or interest to spend time to understand this awesome piece of captivating work.

neverending 11-01-2009 11:48 PM

Well, I was young and enthusiastic andit was the best movie I'd ever seen, so I wanted to share it with others!

Yeah, actually you can't see them in the picture, but she even made those little sperm-creatures.

As for ME, while we were sick ON Halloween, we were able to go out the weekend before. Unfotunately my costume didn't come in in time to complete my Evil Alice look, so I had to settle for Renaissance Vampire:

My boyfriend was just, uhm, serial killer guy (I joked that he's one of the white collar murderers from Hostel):

http://inlinethumb35.webshots.com/44...500x500Q85.jpg

I love this pic - The happy couple. Unfortunately I got wasted and lost my fangs that night. That would be the THIRD pair of fangs that I've purchased and lost this year, making a total of $45 that I've spent this year on fangs alone!

My friend Kate as a disgrunted fairy (she just wanted an excuse to buy wings and a sythe):

I have my evil Alice in Wonderland costume ready and stained with fake blood. I should put it on and just take some pics. I was SO excited to go out and wear it.

As for the FX...yes and no. Technically I did it myself, but it was just prepackaged scar tissue from a costume shop. So pretty much just stuck it to my face, haha. The suit was all me though!

Awesome costumes everyone, by the way - especially you Fort, amazing job!

fortunato 11-03-2009 08:28 PM

Hey, thanks everyone. The costumes are all great.

It always kind of bums me out the few days after Hallowe'en, until before I know it, it's here again.

Nice costume, by the way! How much was it for just one pair of fangs and where can I get them? Are they reusable?

Hey, smoking kills. So do guns. You're setting a bad influence for those of us who use knives to do dirty work.

Love the way there's a gun pointing at your head from the right of the picture.

Oh, God... Those Giant Baby costumes are just... wrong... He doesn't have an Oedipal complex, does he? ;)

I got the fangs here and I LOVE them. They're $15 and completely worth it. Definitely reusable (they pop in and out), and they give you extra molding stuff in case you need to remold them again. I'm actually kind of upset that I've lost THREE PAIRS now. I love the way they look and I think they're a great addition to a costume.

http://www.vampfangs.com/

The brand I got was Scarecrow Custom Fit Fangs, and you might be able to find them somewhere else cheaper, but I really like this site for fake teeth and FX stuff.

ferretchucker 11-05-2009 08:33 AM

They do look so cool. BUT...(and you're gonna love this) my top canine teeth haven't yet grown through, so I might have to wait a while to wear them. :(
