Buffy The Vampire Slayer -- 5/10

Down on the Count -- 7/10

Filthy Rears -- 5/10

Slither -- 10/10; Its anniversary is tomorrow.

Cody's Dreams -- 5.5/10; The short that spawned the upcoming "Before I Wake", but without the obnoxious CGI butterflies.

I watched Insidious Chapter 2 today to refresh my tired brain before immersing myself in everything related to the next Chapter. wWe should have very high hopes for something special from the writer/director Whannel.

Nightcrawler (2014)

Nightcrawler is an exciting and gritty crime-thriller movie that explores the depths of LA crime-journalism at its most gruesome. Jake Gyllenhaal plays Lou Bloom who films crime scenes and sells them to a local news station, while blurring the lines between observer and participant. The movie works best as a character study of Lou, showing how he can manipulate people into helping him in this dangerous profession and the lengths he will go to sell the video to the news. Jake is a great actor and know s how to take his special creepiness to the next level. I would also give it an 8.

"Dead Rising: Watchtower" 7/10

A nice homage to the games weapon wise, but I would've liked it to be much more "Evil Dead 2"-crazy (like the beginning. And the Frank West character) and prefered a story that took place in a giant mall.

Still a pretty good zombie flick with a budget.

"Get Hard" 6/10

The whole movie was like the first half of "Big Stan". A rich guy hires someone to teach him how to survive jail, all leading up to nothing. Will Ferrell had his moments but Kevin Hart just isn't funny.

Let Us Prey, 2014. 8/10

Extraterrestrial. 3/10. Cliche line after cliche line given at cliche moments. Annoying characters. Pass on this.

Really satisfying indie horror. Romance-on-horror; along the lines of Let the Right One In, but a little sweeter and more playful. Bizarro love(craft) story. Solid recommendation.
