This is a really tough decision... Although I have no doubt whatsoever that Carpenter will end up winning this match, I have to cast my vote for Cronenberg. He's never made a film that I would rate at less than 8/10, while Carpenter has made some crap.

tougher and tougher - a History of Violence almost pushes me to vote for old DC (a brilliant - brilliant film) but for innovation and sheer creative spark - - i vote for the old cowboy
