After Dark Horror Fest-Wicked Little Things.
This was a little formulaic at times but I still enjoyed it.The setting and scenery were well shot and suitabley creepy, the performances of the actors were pretty good and the Zombie children were quite effective and surprisingly violent.7/10

Friday the 13th Part 4: The Final Chapter

This one had a higher bodycount, but less gore than Part 3. Corey Feldman gives what probably amounts to his best on-screen performance to date & Crispin Glover is hilarious. Aside from the those two, the cast and acting is average. The story is fairly straight forward and formulated, but overall this one entertains. Probably one of my favorites in the series.

After Dark Horror Fest-Dark Ride
A decent slasher at best,it was a little too cliched for the most part and would have benefited from an injection of pace. The " twist " ending was way too predictable and the characters were a little bland. On the plus side the set was pretty creepy, the acting was passable and there was some decent gore.I thought the movie would have been much more effective if they had showcased the Killers brutality more, the character seemed underused and a little hollow.6/10

Rob Bottin 05-10-2007 06:38 AM

Spider Man 3:)

My biggest problem was the lack of suspense. There was practically none. It always showed where the killer was and where he was going, always.

Wasn't it YOU who suggested it to me because of the atmosphere?

And now you're trashing it because of the lack of suspense??

You two-faced politician, you!!!!

I LOVED the atmosphere, but they showed the killer looking for them and it took away from the fright of the ATMOSPHERE. Like a ...reverse catalyst which I dunno the word for.

You're starting to sound like Amalthea. Is that what you want, huh?

Marroe 05-10-2007 02:55 PM

Most recent have been
Hot Fuzz
Grindhouse
Spiderman 3

All very enjoyable....especially Grindhouse. It didn't even phase me how long it was. Normally if I'm in a theater that long I get antsy, but this one was a pretty good time.

I agree with you on the first half of Grindhouse. But Tarantinos part..... Blablablablablablabla..... Girly gibberish for 1 and a half hour. YUCK!!!

Yeah, it was a LOT of dialogue...it felt more like a Kevin Smith movie rather than a Tarantino to me topic of conversation wise. But when those bitches were kickin ass they were kickin ASS...so it was still satisfying. Planet Terror was indeed the better of the 2...that was just pure fun to watch.

I liked the trailers the most. :)

The only thing i liked about the Tarantino flick, was the three girls kicking Russels ass at the end. For some reason that scene seemed hilarious to me. :D

Yes, of course.

I liked it a lot too, but 10/10.... Man, i don't know..

The Mothman 05-10-2007 03:09 PM

its sounds stupid when you keep calling films 10/10. then no one can take your reviews seriously. your only supposed to give flawless films a 10/10. the only films i would give that would to would be The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly and Raging Bull. 8/10 is acceptable sometimes, 9/10 on a rare occasion. but you use it too much 10/10 far too much.

(11/10 is not a valid rating either)

OH! The trailers were awesome! The line "You just fucked with the wrong Mexican" about killed me...that one was great.
I'm seriously considering going to see it again while it's still in theaters. Just don't think it'll measure up on DVD.

Posher778 05-10-2007 03:11 PM

Well, i'm not really rating them for anyone else, so, why should it bother me? I think it should have been a 9... But it was right after hitcher 2, so I guess I was in the moment for it.

the trailer for Machete?
they are actually going through with that and have decided to make a real movie of it

Posher778 05-10-2007 03:12 PM

Also, who decides whether a film is flawless or not? A magic 8 ball?

The Mothman 05-10-2007 03:13 PM

the viewer does i suppose. but not %50 of the movies you will see will be flawless, and youve been rating around %50 of your movies 10/10

I heard that rumor. I'd definitely check it out. Hell, I'd check em all out if they were movies.

Yeah, i feel the same way about the 10/10 rating.

I can't even come up with a movie title i would give those ratings...

Posher778 05-10-2007 03:22 PM

I don't think I use it that much. Maybe more than a lot of people, but not incredibly much. And hell, if someone wants me to review it then ask me. Angra have you watched Hitcher 2 yet?
