Watching all of the Tremors today...Already watched 1 and 2, I'm in the middle of part 3 now, I'll probably have to watch 4 when I get back from my niece's (or nephew's...I can't remember which of my sister's kids is having a birthday today...That's pretty bad, huh? :D...I got a gift that works for any of them...lol) birthday party.

I really like Tremors...The sequels, as usually happens, steadily slide downhill, but they're still worth watching

I like all of the Tremors... they're silly fun right down to the last one. I'm surprised somebody other than me liked Hitcher 2! They made a pretty bold move in that one and I thought it worked.

Switchblade Romance(aka Haute Tension, aka High Tension)
This is one of the best Horror movies of the last ten years imo,a stylish, brutal, gritty and intense movie. The frenetic pace coupled with some truly disturbing violence make for compelling viewing, the Actors were above average in the main and I thought the soundtrack was used very effectively.
The "Twist" ending doesn't do it for everyone(I personally like it),and you can pick holes in it if you so chose, but even if you dislike the conclusion it shouldn't detract from what is a remarkable Horror movie.

P.S Switchblade Romance is a much better Title!

jaybomb 04-22-2007 07:44 AM

i agree with you dp mccoy, i liked high tension alot as well:)

The Wraith

This was a strange movie. A guy who is killed comes back from the dead in a car to race road pirates and picks them off one by one. Not really even a horror movie as it's intended, or claims to be. Not so great. Not to mention it has nudity and sex scenes and the rating on the box is PG-13. What the hell?

5/10

Children of Men
Sublimely beautiful and powerful. Seamless special effects, amazing scope, wonderful acting and a very strong socio-political message wrapped in a SciFi allegory. This is cinema at it's finest. I'm torn between this one and Pan's Labyrinth for personal favorite film of 2006.

A+

The Descent- 9.5/10

It still manages to really scare me. Truly frightening.

THIS MOVIE IS GREAT! Pure 80s cheese... The corny lines, the stereotypical 80s bad guy (Packard!), the hot chick, the hilarious characters, etc.... THIS MOVIE IS A MUST SEE! Check out this video montage! It's awesome.

I would. If I had known it was going to be like that, I'd have skipped it. lol

@BH14
Cheese? Nah, it was worse than that...I usually enjoy the cheezy horror films, but not this one. Parts even reminded me of ET for some reason.

I just watched The Descent again, for the third time. This time it was to show it to the woman I'm dating, who hadn't seen it before. It's still as awesome the third time as it was the first.

I fucking loved this one too; it actually moved me when I saw it in theatres. It's beautiful.

Then I started hearing a lot of hate for it around here, and when I recommended it to people around here I got nothing but negative feedback. I can't understand how you can't be blown away by this film.

My three favorites of 2006 are:

1. The Departed
2. Pan's Labyrinth
3. Children of Men

pstamer 04-22-2007 04:01 PM

I just watched puppet master 3 and I must say I completely forgot how much I really enjoy the first 5 movies in the series. I'm actually watching The Descent right now. I'm on my 52nd viewing.

Watched The Departed on Friday. Finally, eh? I liked it a lot. I was on the edge of my seat most of the time and let's just say, I didn't see the ending coming at all. Intense. 10/10!

Last night I watched a movie called "Quest for the Mighty Sword". Basically a Conan the Barbarian rip off. Not even worth seeing for the cheesy bad acting... on the up hand it had this creepy monster..? 1/10

Saw Hot Fuzz today and it was very funny. Good gore aswell. Really liked it. 9/10.

This "John Landis" short is okay.........not much comedy in it.

Roderick Usher 04-22-2007 06:57 PM

Hot Fuzz
If you like these guys, you'll love this film. A bit slow in developing, but the last 20 minutes made me want to go shoot everything in sight!!! Hilarious.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (1966)

One of the most incredibly entertaining films ever made, and easily one of my favorites. The score gives me chills.

Little miss Sunshine 5.5/10

Couldn't agree more...I found it boring. The attempt for a "deeper" story tried and failed in my opinion.

I liked the idea. But o'boy, it took the movie forever to get going.

The Harvesters

Ok, this was one of the strangest movies I've seen in awhile. It wasn't really horror as much as an action/drama type of film. It didn't really hold my attention and it was very slow, but yes I did finish it as I do with all of my movies. I got this in the "Tormented Souls - Blood Soaked Cinema" 12 movie set. Some of the other films from this set haven't been too bad though.

i think that title gives away the ending a little

watching SUBJECT TWO it is in full screen but i am trying to get through it it seems to be a retelling of frankenstien and just for good measure the doctors name is Franklin Vick like victor frankenstien let you know how it goes when i finish.

ok finished not too bad check it out

"Boo" on SciFi. This was an excellent film. Go rent it at your local video store or (more likely) rent it on NetFlix.

Die Hard Dracula

Alright, all I can really say about this is that it is the stupidest movie I have ever seen. It's just silly. Watch at your own risk, but find something else to do while watching it. At least it had a little humor to it.
