Rayne, The movie you were thinking of was the Day of the Dead remake I believe...

thebigman 11-20-2008 06:36 AM

hmmm

ya know cryptkeeper i was thinking that when it got posted but i thought i was being silly as i said 80s hmmmmm????

thebigman 11-20-2008 06:46 AM

to blue demon

i think the film may be dr terrors vault of horror, not to get confused by the early 90s series of horrors that were on brittish t.v with a dude in shody demon makeup giving brief details on the movie before it started

hope this helps , i feel your pain lol :p

You're right...Dustin told me after I posted this...I watch SOOO many movies every week, from so many different time periods, and zombie movies are my favorites...After about a month or so, they all start to run together for me (unless a movie is particularly unique or spectacular), and I sometimes have a difficult time telling which was which...The scenes I described weren't in any part of the original Day Of The Dead, so I just didn't put that together in my head

Thanks for helping:)

The episode you were referring to was Dreams That Kill from Freddy's Nightmares...I confused the talkshow host (named Charlie Michaels, played by Dick Gautier) with Downey...One of the guests, from 'Mothers Against Musical Atrocities', hit the host in the head with her purse and knocked him out...Freddy entered through the unconscious guy's head and took over the show as the host, himself...I hope that helps to restore my reputation...I guess I had just picked the wrong 'crouton' from the Horror Salad that is my brain...

Zombie movies are my favorites as well and I have the same problem...

Skunner 11-20-2008 01:14 PM

I've got one that's been on my mind for awhile.

It's about a family in a house and there's a camera or robot in it watching them. And the thing is posessed and locks the house down or something among those lines. It's an older movie.

The Simpson's parodied it I'm sure.

If that doesn't help, I'll try to think of more details or try to find the episode from the Simpsons.

*EDIT* I found it.

It was called "Demon Seed." The camera bit might have thrown you off because they used HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey as the camera in the Simpson's episode.

Elvis_Christ 11-20-2008 02:12 PM

I've had a copy of Demon Seed for ages but haven't got round to watching it. Same deal with Inseminoid. I'll have to have a night watching Robot/Alien rapist flicks :D

jwoodcroft 11-24-2008 02:15 AM

Alright, I just made an account here to ask this question, so hopefully I've come to the right place.

When my sister and I were 9/7 years old respectively we saw a film on TV that terrified us that neither of us have been able to track down in our adult years, but I would love to locate, if nothing else for nostalgic value. My memories of the film are so vague, but I'll try and explain what I remember best I can.

It's a horror movie very much in a similar vein to the Poltergeist movies, with a family being terrorized by ghosts in their home. I'm pretty sure this particular film revolved around shadows, at least most of my memories of it involve shadows. The scene I can remember most clearly involves the oldest daughter in the family lying in bed as the shadows of two large hands slowly come together, casting the entire room into shadow. I seem to remember the film ending with this same girl dying of some mysterious "cancer" related causes. I also seem to remember something about the father hallucinating in the garage, and something about a snake, but that's about as detailed as i can get.

If anyone could point me in the right direction given such little to go on I would be eternally grateful.

It's none of those... and it's not Paperhouse either. I saw the movie in the early 90s and from what I remember of the style I'd say it was probably from the late 80s or early 90s, though being as similar to Poltergeist as it was I wouldn't be surprised if it came out soon after that.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know!

HELP-I can't remmember the movie name

Hi all,

I am trying to find out the name of a horror movie i have seen in the 80's.
The story was about a family which on a stormy night hears a knock on the door, when they open the door there see a women (i think she was pregnant).
they let her sleep for the night and in the morning they see she gave birth to a child and the women disappeared. they raise the child and this child kills all the original kids of that family.

PLEASE HELP. I HAVE SEARCHED EVERYWHERE.
CAN'T REMMEMBER THE NAME.

THANKS.

thebigman 12-01-2008 02:42 AM

erm

wouldnt be poltergeist 2 or 3 would it :)

topshelf 12-06-2008 07:02 PM

title help please!

In this late 60's--early 70's film, the undead are gradually claiming their victims. The only scene I can recall halfway clearly has one character frantically running after a tractor which is spraying a field in the middle of the night in order to warn the tractor driver (great backlit shot of the spray.)
After finally catching up, we see that it is too late; the driver is slumped over, with a telltale dark brown egg-shaped mark on the neck. I think the tractor must have been on autopilot.
I saw this in high school, and have wondered off and on about it for years.
Any ideas?

fortunato 12-06-2008 07:52 PM

I'm pretty sure that's Let's Scare Jessica to Death (1971).

thebigman 12-07-2008 04:57 AM

yep

Pretty sure Fortunato is correct , if not tho you could try - The Grapes of Death (Les Raisins de la Mort)

Gore Monster 12-07-2008 04:55 PM

Hey Folks,

I'm new to the forum...V has just directed me towards this thread - hope you can help. Just sending out a line about an old slasher film I’m trying to track down that my pop keep going on about. He’s a horror fan like me, and for ages he’s been telling me about this black & white slasher he saw in the ‘60s about some stoned hippies that go off in a camper van, come across an old abandoned house, and then get hunted down one by one by a killer with a skull mask and a drill/corkscrew weapon for a hand? My pa reckons it’s still the best slasher he’s ever seen, but he can’t remember it’s freakin' name! I really wana check it out. Does the story sound familiar? Any leads or ideas you guys have would be cool. I think it came out in ’67 - ’69…cheers

(I'm pretty sure it's not Ghoulies!)

HorrorFreak78 12-10-2008 09:37 PM

The Dark Beneath / Below / Beyond???

Hhhhmmm… Sounds like a cool film. Sounds like a movie my pal Mick told me about – I’ll have to check in with him. I haven’t seen it, and I’m not sure if he has, but I think it was called The Dark Beneath, or The Dark Below, or Beyond or something…would love to see it. Any of you horror buffs know anything more about it?

Gore Monster 12-10-2008 09:41 PM

More Clues...

Ahhh... goddam! What is it! Trying to drain more info out of my pa....

So... The killer lives in this old abandoned house in the stix like I said with his deranged Mum, he kills the hippies who have broken down in a van nearby by shoving his drill hand/arm through their heads/stomachs etc. (sweeeet!) and then takes them down to the basement of the house where he keeps them alive and tortures them.... classic. Not that enlightening I know, but might jolt your severed heads?! It might be bullshit, but he reckons the director was called Radford, or maybe Bradford??? Horror director in the ‘60s/’70s… I can’t find anyone that matches on IMDb though?

Thanks... we'll crack it

neverending 12-10-2008 10:32 PM

The only thing I can come up with is Reeker, but it's from 2005.

contradiction......really surprised NE didn't pick up on this.

you're slacking NE :D

Gore Monster 12-11-2008 05:25 PM

Contradiction!

I see what you're saying! Well I guess the bad guy (not killer!) just rips their faces and bodies up rather than killing them!

The_Return 12-11-2008 05:40 PM

I've got one...

Now, first off let me say that I wouldn't even be remotely surprised if this movie doesn't exist. A buddy of mine told me about it, but he's a hell of a storyteller. Plus, he does a shitload of drugs.

Basically, it sounds like the Asian version of Crank, with a horror twist. It's about this dude that gets cursed by some crazy which doctor type, and has to kill to stay alive. Whenever he kills someone, he absorbs part of their life. Thing is, he figures out that he can cheat the system: kill a shiton of people and live forever kind of deal.

The way he described it, its more of a gorefest/martial arts showcase than an actual movie. That's pretty much it for the plot, otherwise it's just the main guy kicking ass left right and centre.

He said that "some famous Asian dude" was in it too, as a detective trying to bring the main guy in. He thought it was Chow Yun Fat, but I can't find anything like this in his filmography.

Anybody recognize this? I wouldn't be remotely surprised if this is the result of some kind of vodka-weed-lsd induced trip, but it sounds pretty entertaining so I figured I'd run it past you guys anyway.

I would just ask him, but thats kind of how I found out about it: he forgot the title and wondered if I'd heard of it :o

HorrorFreak78 12-11-2008 06:16 PM

The Dark Beneath / Below / Beyond???

Sorry for chasing you around all the forums GM! I’m just keen to help… and to be honest… I just really wana track down this film too! Sounds awesome! Did you run those titles The Dark Beneath/Below/Beyond past your dad? It really sounds like the film my friend told me about a while back…
