Verden Fell

Tomb of Ligeia is my favorite Corman/Price/Poe film. Yes, I like it even better than the very similar House of Usher.

Although I prefer House of Usher, I'm happy to see someone else who appreciates Tomb of Ligeia - everyone else but me seems to think it's too slow, but I absolutely love the atmosphere of the movie.

I love the atmosphere and it's one of my top Price performances. He keeps most of his florid mannerisms in check and turns in a real moody, nuanced portrayal of a tortured character.

Sidney Prescott (Scream series)

Sculpt 07-25-2013 06:59 PM

truth be told, I've been in love with Neve Campbell since Party of Five aired. Did many excellent roles as Sidney Prescott.

Me too. Still, Crispin Glover was born to play Willard, LOL! but I haven't seen that 2002 Willard. I'm sure he did a fantastic job. He's an underrated actor, and a bit type cast due to the quirky characters he plays so well.

(I'm not voting on this one)

Both Willard movies are good, but neither of them approaches the literary source, originally titled "Ratman's Notebooks."

Does the film Ben do any better job at capturing Ratman's Notebooks?

No, Ben is a completely original story that takes place after the events in Willard/Ratman's Notebooks.

The original book had a satirical component that both movies ignore. Willard discovers a large rat mask in the attic and starts making raids wearing it accompanied by his army of rats. The city is in terror of "Ratman." They even start selling Ratman insurance.

realdealblues 07-26-2013 05:13 PM

I'll throw a vote to Jennifer Hills (I Spit On Your Grave).
