sorry bwind but that wouldn't work. In england we have U - Universal, PG - parental guidance (in otherwords you 'can see it but parents may want to consider letting you), 12a - anyone under twelve needs a parent with them,
15 - you must be 15 or over to see it. No exceptions and 18 - same as 15 but have to be 18 instead (go figure) |
i saw this on his myspace blog.....thought it was a cool idea.....id love to take my sis but shes 8.....she couldve been a mini michael...and yep its a pain in the uk with the ratings....still dont get why they changed from 12 to 12a......i saw 15s when i was 12 and 18s when i was 16......tho i look really young still for a 19 year old id go with my father.....u pass as an adult so much easier if ur with an adult and u stay in the background
like when final destination came out i was 13...and some kids infront of me who had bought tickets got stopped before going into the screen by the rip-ticket-guy......and they looked older than me (it was only a 15) but i walked straight in cause i was with my father. |
Who's gonna dress up in a costume to go see a movie? I'm a film nerd, but that's way too geeky for even me. That's just as bad as dressing as a jedi or a fucking hobbit to go to the movies.
I'll be there opening day, and I'll be pointing and laughing at anyone and everyone who does this:D |
its such a cool publicity stunt.........but i could never do it.......if it opened on halloween night.........which why dosent it? then itd would work

Anyway I think it is fun to see whether you can scare a few people...I once chased 15 yr. old girls around my neighborhood with my mikey costume....People are scared too easily |

@Mictlantechutli Your right I would do it if I seen starwar freaks oops..... I mean geaks :p |

I had a friend who knew it was me under that mask but he was still scared shitless:) |
My oldest sis saw Halloween ressurection with her bf in America and she said these guys came intogether but one sat in the row infront. She thought this was weird but ignored it. Halfway through, a woman screamed and my sister turned. One of the guys had got up wearing a myers costume, the other started playing the theme on his mini tape player and the guy in the costume had one of those knives that goes into the handle and was stabbing the other guy who had let off a blood pouch. He pretended to be dead and the michael guy walked out to thundering appluase. I wish I was there!

Zombie's Halloween...disappoints!
Yes I have seen it last night. Dont ask how and where...
And many of you might be queueing in front of your local theaters in a couple days time...so I wont spoil it for you. Its fairly obvious to assume that Zombie's earlier offerings will have an effect on the remake...and thats how it is. Its like watching The Devil's Rejects, with Michael's storyline thrown in. The script and dialogues are virtually the same...and that is not the only downer for Zombie's offering. There's almost no suspense or foreboding...Michael is basically a terminator-esque unstoppable killing machine...the body count is very high...and the background built up by Zombie for Michael is...a huge letdown. Which brings forth the pretty obvious question (and the casting of Tyler Mane into the limelight) - how could Michael become so big and strong while spending 15 years in a padded up cell? The movie lacks one big factor the original had - atmosphere. There is NONE of that here. I wont go in any further...most of you will see it and then form your own conclusions...as for me, even when being a huge gorehound...Zombie's Halloween doesnt click it, even with the gracious gore. Now to catch James Wan's Death Sentence come Friday... |
I'm jealous that you've got to watch it already! I'm looking forward to this film, and thanks for not letting any spoilers ruin it for us!
|
I've got sneak preview passes for Thursday night.
___V___, I hope our opinions differ, but you're usually spot on. ;) What a bummer. I had high hopes for this film. :( |

Well, this sucks......pretty much what I was expecting though, to be honest. But we had planned to see this with a few friends while we visiting my family in Georgia next week. The only remake I had planned on spending any money to go see. Pffft......:(
|
This is indeed a bad start. I was expecting so much from this film.
I will give this a viewing though, just for Michael Myers. |
I won't be seeing this in theatres, if at all. My predictions were pretty much exactly as V described; I don't need to waste $10 to see them for myself.
|
I'm still pumped for in on the basis of "Yeah it'll be 100% different...thats the point. The trailers look badass and Zombie's track record is spot-on so far"
I have faith that it'll still be entertaining. I'm out of town on the 31st, but I'll be seeing it as soon as I get home. |

Weell.....Robert de Niro did it in Cape Fear;)
|
I think he's saying because hes always locked in a padded cell, presumebly usually in a straight jacket, there arent many options to work out. Whereas a standard prisoner has his daily exercise, access to weights and a bed to do pull-ups on.
I do think it was quite bizarre casting of Myers. The guy is "supposed" to be average build and about 6ft tall - but I guess the size of the actor isn't really anything to get too worried about, but rather the movie itself. |
There goes my Saturday night plans. I guess I can go an hope that a bunch of teeny poppers go and their screams can at least make me jump.
|
Okay, sorry if this was mentioned before... but...
The illegal version you have watched is the WORKPRINT. It was the version shown to test audiences last fall. As you may know, that showing was reason for the reshoots. The film shown in theatres will be entirely reconstructed and feature many reshots - including a new ending. Word of mouth; workprint = let down. theatrical = highly improved. |
Quote:
Quite frankly, the only difference between this one and the final theatrical version is...number of deaths have been increased (6 extra gory deaths), and a new ending which is more faithful to the original. Other than that, the whole movie stays basically the SAME, with one or two cuts here and there. About this copy verses the theater copy... Theater copy has :- 6 more death scenes. A different more gruesome death scene, some additional sanitarium scenes and an alternate ending (similar to original). This workprint copy has :- Many nude scenes that were erased in the final cut as well as a very graphic rape scene. It was toned down to get an R rating. I dont wanna spoil it just yet...just watch it in a couple days time. And tell me how YOU like it.;) |
then they need to change the tagline: "Let's ruin...the Hallloween!"

I can safely predict from now that Saw IV will do much better than Zombie's Halloween. Mark my words. |
I'll be there at 12:01 tonight and back here tomorrow with my thoughts. I'll kind of miss Michael as the Shape, but I think it won't be so bad.
|
I'll take V's word for it, that this movie blows.
If so, then that is "three strikes and your out" for Mr. Zombie. |
I got to see a sneak peek of it Wednesday night courtesy of a friend of a friend who manages a local cinema. Sure, not as great as the original (natch') but I'll be damned if I didn't enjoy it.
The first ten minutes, as stated, don't give much hope...but once it gets into the territory of young Michael and his new shrink (played expertly by Malcolm McDowell) it gets better. It's definitely a Rob Zombie flick; he went out of his way to make it his own. I won't go into details since no one's seen it yet and I don't want to ruin it with spoilers...but I think Zombie overall did a good job with it. It's quite chilling in parts, and though I was sure the "backstory" would be empty and hokey, I was surprised with how deep Zombie went with it. Is it great? No. Is it much better than I'd expected? Yep. It'll definitely be a love it or hate it kind of flick. Me, I find myself siding with it. Can't hold a candle to the original (as most remakes) but like the Dawn remake, much better than I would have ever expected. |
I changed my mind.I'll see this moive today.Out of boredem.
|
I'm stuck at work and my show starts at 10:30 tonight, have to wait for some friends to come in from outta town. I can't wait too see this film!!!!
|
8/10 Yeah, it's that good.
I saw a sneak preview last night. Of course it doesnt compare to the original, but Zombie did a great job. I liked it a lot. The acting was stellar. A tip of the hat to Scout Taylor-Compton and Malcolm McDowell they owned their roles. I'm glad it wasn't a duplicate of the original. |
I saw the midnight showing last night and I've never been so disappointed in my life. Being a Halloween fan all my life I can't even begin to tell you how bad I was awaiting this movie. Walking into this movie I had high expecations due to the fact that Rob Zombie did a fantastic job on House Of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects. I thought for sure Zombie was going to make this a remake to remember and oh how I was wrong.
I didn't even feel like I was watching Halloween because it was so different than the original in a bad way. The music, which was always the main factor in Halloween was played at the wrong times and didn't fit the scene whatsoever. It almost seemed as though there was no plot and just random killings. I was in awe as the credits rolled completely speechless. As everyone got out of there seat I couldn't even move because I was completely shocked at how terrible this was. The only thing that was decent was the acting. |
^^^ There you have it, folks. 2 completely different reactions after watching.
Watch it and judge for yourself. I can only vouch for those who have the same tastes as me...that you will be bitterly disappointed. As for the others (and the die-hard Rob Zombie fans)...to each their own. EDIT : In response to this... Quote:
Zombie tried to make a mixed dish of half-prequel and half-remake. Very "original" indeed? The screenplay and direction SUCKED... Enough said. |
