nine9 12-27-2004 09:31 AM

Not a horror....well maybe....

I saw The Life And Death Of Peter Sellers.

Geoffrey Rush is always amazing and was eerie in the role, he fit it so well, but I was disappointed that it was too focussed on the negative aspects of his life and little on the genius that he was.

The guy was a master.......

Amalthea 12-27-2004 10:34 AM

Shrek, Anastasia, and the last Olsen Gang movie from 1998.

ChEEbA 12-28-2004 05:38 AM

Ong-Bak. (Thai)

Badass martial arts action...all the stunts done by the actor himself, I wouldn't mind getting an OFFICIAL copy of the dvd though, because the subtitling in the version I got was SO BAD, that 90% of it was like they'd just got an english dictionary and selected random words out of it.
It's all about the fight scenes tho, I doubt the storyline was all THAT good anyway.

Amalthea 12-28-2004 06:06 AM

I rented Underworld today on DVD.

I agree with you nine9. I love the Pink Panther movies and this movie made Peter Sellers look like a real nutcase.Geoffrey Rush did an amazing job though and I wish they had used him instead of Steve Martin in the upcoming remake of The Pink Panther.

You are right Steve Martin is an odd choice for that. Now that I saw that movie...the bio......I have heard the same opinion from other people too.

I think Geoffrey Rush is becoming one of my favoirite actors now. I have yet to see him in a role that he didn't own!

newb 12-28-2004 07:45 AM

I watched Resident Evil 2 over the weekend [ not bad for what it was and the girl who played Jill was a real cutey]. Also watched Anchorman, and this was better than I thought it was gonna be, as long as you watch it in the right frame of mind.

horrifying 12-28-2004 08:15 AM

it is an amazing movie as well ...

the man was a genius, no doubt about it.

but apparently he was a very difficult person.

its always the comedians that have the demons. Which is probably why they feel the need to make people laugh .. to get their love and admiration ..
Out of every comedy duo the straight man was always the balanced guy and the funny man - the fuckup in real life..

Except maybe for Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis - I think they were equally fucked up!

Dr.L00MIS 12-28-2004 01:10 PM

I just finished watching Critters, a great overlooked 80's movie.

Yes, I saw an interview with Tom Chong after he got out of jail for selling signed bongs (apparently), It was on Leno I think...he spoke about the new movie, didn't give much detail, just that it was happening - at that point.
I know little of what's going on there, but I'd love to see another c&c film, provided it wasn't one of the shitty ones like "get out of my room", damn that SUCKED....it was just, BORING.
The two "smoke" films were pretty good, yknow, if you're in the right frame of mind.
I'd really like to see what they would do nowdays, if it would be oldskool, or be trying to compete with the endless teen comedies coming out (please dont), or a hybrid of the two...which could be ok.

Hmm....I wonder if they WILL end up making "Harold and Kumar go to Amsterdam"...

KRUGERKID13 12-28-2004 09:25 PM

i enjoy c & c but another movie isnt neccesarry
