I think you'll enjoy it, there is one part in there that you will laugh if you hate remakes :D

Man, for being called the Masters of Horror this show really disappoints.

acenobitesgod 11-09-2006 09:00 PM

cool

haven't seen many. cigarette burns and imprint blew me away.

that is all...cheers!

I havent been impressed until I watched John Carpenter's Pro Life. I thought it was pretty good, nice and gory as well.

joshaube 11-28-2006 12:24 PM

Family was the best for me, so-far. A lot of you dig John Carpenter's work, and I agree it's above-standard quality-wise... I don't exactly enjoy his episodes. I guess the material doesn't interest me. Pro-life was so-so; interesting concept. I missed the ending so I won't give it a rating for anything. So far I've seen...

The Damned Thing C
Family A-
The V Word B
Pro-Life ??? (Probably a B)

You're 100% right. I can only count a handful of episodes that are actually worth watching again. Most of them start out as good ideas but go downhill fast. I think these directors are either real spoiled being used to having bigger budgets and special effects or the writers and producers of the series are really restricting how far they can go. These are supposed to be the best directors of the genre but Im not seeing it.

"Jenifer" was pretty creepy but the storyline was terrible. It was like they left out alot of parts that would explain what was going on.

"Cigarette Burns" and "Fair-Haired Child" were winners. Some of the very few.

"Sick Girl" was silly but it had Misty and Angela, so I had to give it points for starring my babygirls, Spiderbabe and May.

Despite all the criticism the show's gotten, you'd think they'd do a better job with the second season but it looks like bad business as usual. The only one I've even remotely liked is "The V Word" for creepiness and that still sucked overall.

It was a shocking episode with some gore. I wouldn't want that man in the episode to be my father though. A pretty good effort from John Carpenter.

Cadaver 01-10-2007 11:26 AM

Right to Die is a great episode IMO. Theres some Hellraiser elements in it.

dewaholic 01-13-2007 09:24 PM

Masters of horror is hit & miss. Ya think the MASTERS of horror, would come up with excellent stuff all the time. This season, I liked the deaths in prety much all of them. The one's that I thought were alright ( sorry can't recall the titles) were the one with the guy that posesed supernatural powers, The one with a chick that was pregnat with a demon child, (I think I scarred my kid for life with that 1. He kept holding his stomach. I thought since he was playing he wouldn't notice)loved the 1 with Meatloaf, the one where the chick's all burned was good. The one where a virus affects men to kill women was kinda lame imo. & I've yet to see the other 2.

dewaholic 01-14-2007 07:48 PM

Ok watched "we scream for Ice Cream" last night. That was almost laughable.

I wish it was laughable! That might have saved it...

Elvis_Christ 01-14-2007 08:58 PM

So is season 2 still going in the states?

Cadaver 01-14-2007 09:19 PM

Theres 3 more episodes to go to finish off season 2

Twilight_Zone 01-15-2007 10:14 AM

Season 2 isnt nearly as good as the first season

dewaholic 01-15-2007 07:13 PM

I thought season 1 is like season 2. Hit & miss. Season 1 had a couple of real laughable ones.

Can't wait to see the next one. "The Black Cat", originally by Edgar Allen Poe. I love Poe & I just want to see how it will be. I just wish it was the "Pit & the Pendulem" (yea spelled that wrong) or the "Telltale Heart"

The_Return 01-16-2007 07:11 PM

3 weeks until the first Season 2 DVD comes out...looking forward to it. Ive seen 12 out of the 13 Season 1 episodes and I've enjoyed all of them (somes lees than others), really looking forward to Season 2.

Has Brad Anderson's episode aired yet?

dewaholic 01-21-2007 07:16 PM

I loved The Black Cat. May even be my favorite one.

Cadaver 01-21-2007 08:57 PM

I thought The Black Cat was an excellent episode too. One of the best episodes out of both season 1 and 2. Jeffrey Combs was amazing and brought Edgar Allen Poe to life.
Its in my top 3 for sure.

I guess then you don't have any movie channels? You're missing some good stuff.

dewaholic 01-29-2007 07:49 PM

"the Washingtonians" was more like a comedy. The ending made me actually laugh. Some master of horror there.

Cadaver 01-29-2007 09:06 PM

I personally didn't like The Washingtonians, I thought it was dumb for a Masters of Horror episode.

I thought that Bob Scmidt did an excellent directing job turning out a pretty chilling episode. I enjoyed for that fact alone.

Me neither. In fact, there's a few of them I think just totally suck, for the "masters of horror".

dewaholic 02-02-2007 07:57 PM

Well just watched the last episode of season 2. It was ok. The bit with the arm was too much. I've seen better & I've seen worse. LOL My mom happened to be watching it with me. Shoulda seen her jump (she jumped 4 times) Overall I give it a 6 out of 10.

I take it your mom isn't really into watching horror but you gotta give her credit that she was brave enough to watch it with you. Your Mom sounds pretty cool.

dewaholic 02-04-2007 10:10 PM

Oh she's a wuss when it comes to horror. But she came into the room when I was watching it, so that's her fault. lol

Elvis_Christ 02-05-2007 02:34 AM

I watched the episode Family last night and thought it was awesome.

Oh well maybe someday she will be able to appreciate it on the same level you do. Cheers.

I appreciated the episode directed by John Landis. I thought George Wendt really did a wonderful job creating his Harold characterzation.

I also loved the way the George's character reminded me of Anthony Perkin's part in Psycho. The mild mannered next door neighbor with a real twist.

Sounds like? Is that the one wear this guy has hearing "problems'? I can't remember the titles of all of them. But that one was horrible, if that's the one you're talking about.

The main character could hear very well. That was the irony in the story I guess. After his son died his hearing became so acute that he couldn't take it anymore. It was driving him crazy. So he had to take drastic measures to appease it. :)

Watched "The Washingtonians" or whatever.......really stupid
