I agree with Leprucky. Don't think about it so much that you bum yourself out, just be aware of it so when it does eventually happen it's not such a total shock. Give Goldie some extra attention and TLC and enjoy your time together. It could be years from now, but it might not be. My last dog lived to be 17 and he was pretty active until about the last 6 months of his life. When he started reeeeeeally slowing down and stuff, I started mentrally preparing myself. It still hurts like hell, but it is a bit easier when you have some time to prepare yourself.
Now go give Goldie a big hug and tell her what a good and pretty girl she is. :)
