much love to rolls

novakru 03-06-2009 05:33 PM

Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.

When it is cold and wet, please take me inside... for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements... and I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth... though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land... for you are my god... and I am your devoted worshiper.

Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger.

And, beloved master, should the Great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me away from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest...and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

Update :- He is responding to the homoeopathic treatment being given to him for the past 21 days.

Glad to hear it.

I'm confused now. Is this a dog or a cat?

Thanks for the update V. Oddly enough, I was just thinking about Rolls the other day when I was reading some stuff on HDC and was wondering how he was doing. It just popped into my head for some reason. I'm so glad to hear he's responding well to treatment. Hope he keeps getting better!

novakru - that is beautiful, made me all teary-eyed and had to go hug my little buddy (which of course he enjoyed, he's such an attention sponge :) ).

Avi, I'm so sorry about Rolls. Part of the reason for the deep funk I've been in is that we found out one of our cats has cancer. She has months left, there's nothing to be done but give her medication (Lord, if that isn't fun! NOT!) to help her appetite for the time she has left. So far she's not suffering....we'll just keep an eye on her and when she starts to show signs of suffering, she'll go for her last vet visit.

Welcome back, HF. I sent you an email in-between. Got worried about where you were.

Sorry to hear about your cat. I am basically going through the same situation right now so I can totally relate to it.

Rolls has taken a turn for the worse. One of the nodules which is under his tail has started bleeding. The vets say its cancerous bleeding so it cant be stopped, but they cleaned it and bandaged him anyway. Also, he hasnt been eating much the past 3-4 days. Hoping this is just a temporary phase.

You sent me an email? I didn't get it.

I'm praying for Rolls even harder. That's not good news.
