Loved SAW 5. Love this whole fucking series actually, my second favourite behind The Evil Dead flicks.

If I had to rank them, it'd be this way:

SAW 3
SAW
SAW 5
SAW 2
SAW 4

I believe part 6 is supposed to finish off the series. You know they'll continue it though, and I'll be there every single fuckin' time! :D

I'm pretty over this series and the majority of flicks the major studios are putting out. Might give it a watch sometime...

I liked the first one...I've seen the rest but I don't really get into them. Haven't seen 5 yet though. I'll probably watch it eventually.

I keep watching them even though they could have seriously stopped after the 1st. It's like they get gradually worse and worse.

i hate that stupid movie

I'll watch every SAW movie until they stop making them. I think V was a little convoluted, but ot was nothing compared to IV. It seems like they might be back on track, but I can't see how they can keep going back in time to any more "parallel" stories with Jigsaw still alive.

I'm sure if VII makes enough cash and is decent they'll push for more though, or least do a spin-off. I can honestly say that I've enjoyed the series as a whole more than Fri. 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street (even though certain movies in those series are better than any Saw flick) so I'm all for them milking it.

I actually agree to this... like I've mentioned before.. if it's horror or anything thriller like, I'll watch it... I at first was a little confused as to what they were going to do in the 5th installment, but now from reading all of this, I understand... I most likely will probably do the same thing, just watch them as they come out... I'm a big fan of having complete sets, no matter HOW terrible the movie is....

take for instance, the Halloween series... I have 3, yes I said it, Halloween 3...

So - is it any good, at all?
I've heard one or two negative reviews, but it seems largely to do with the same problem anyone ever has with the saw films, continuity stuff, confusion, time jumps...etc...

Now, I loved the first saw and don't think any of the sequels have really done it a great deal of justice, but they all have their moments.
#2 was a completely different kind of movie, reminded me a bit more of cube but ultimately an entertaining watch, with a couple of good twists.
#3 was a bit of a let-down I thought, it was very convoluted, and I think easily the weakest of the series - to this day I have not seen it again since the cinema...I was ready to give up on the franchise at this point...it felt deliberately 2-part, which turned out to be the case, because a fair bit of the plot and characters of that film continued on in...
#4 I saw no need to bring the Whalberg character back, I'll say that from the get-go...but I thought this was actually a huge improvement on the film prior.
The proper jigsaw origin story was one of the best scenes/moments of all the saw films...my only problem with this one was that two of the cops looked pretty similar, and in the end I was left wondering who did what, and when - although I think upon a rewatch (yes, I actually think this one is worth rewatching) I'll get all that sorted.

I just don't know what to expect with #5...
Anyone who's seen it - how does it rate against the others?

i dont no i havent seen it yet but hopefully it weill be good cos the others were good but the fourth was ok not a good as the rest
