Well I won't give away the ending because that spoils all the fun :-P But it's incredibly well written with good acting (which is pretty rare in horror movies I think) and the way the atmosphere is created works effectively. I'm probably not saying this in the best way because I don't know a whole about film, but you really need to see this movie. You won't be disappointed.

makes sense though - it's way too good for a TV movie .. pretty scary too

Perhaps you're thinking of The Dark Secret of Harvest Home- also based on a Thomas Tryon book,and adapted as a TV mini-series.

no (although i have that book) I was definately thinking of The Other. I first saw it on TV - and it was a long time ago - so that may be why ..

about a year ago - after searching for ages I found the DVD for sale in the UK - bought it ... and then about 2 weeks later i found it in a used DVD store in my home town for $7. Havent seen a copy anywhere since.
