But we would go around boats and such taking their petrol for reserves etc. And I'm sure the gas stations wouldn't mind all that much.

Other survivors will be thinking the same thing. You either strike early and take all the gas you can (trading some to people who beg for it IF they have enough to trade to make it worth your while), or live without fuel and find other ways to generate electricity. I would immediately confiscate two very large whole house solar generators that I've been looking at. They're on trailers already so it would be an easy ride. I would use fuel only as trade bait and although I wouldn't need it I would still take as much as I could.

True.

I suppose yeh, you strike fast and get as much renewable as possible. Maybe as my plan is to live at sea, investing in a water powered generator would be a good move. And solar panels.

Indeed. Speed will be of the essence.

There will be eventual showdowns with other survivors (unless all of em are in the same team, or group)...which brings me to an interesting point.

More of a question really...

If a group of survivors (of HDC members and some of their families) came across another group (of HDC members and some of THEIR families), will they be able to bond together to form a group?

Or will it be, a showdown? "I reached here first, so its mine" kinda situation...

Remember, all of you ARE desperate...to fight it out, and to survive...and it is a pretty extreme scenario we are talking about here.

Like, for example, Cheeba's group came across NeverEnding's group...kinda situation.

.

bonding is the only answer ..

the only way to rebuild (if my scenario doesnt work :o )

not just safety in numbers - but more can be accomplished with greater numbers.

whats the point of being alive if you're the only one ?

Same here. We need to rebuild. In 2013 I'll be 19-20.

A young, fresh, strapping, fit body, good for rebuilding for extended periods of times. So, I'll sacrifice my body for the good of the team. We will repopulate...through me!

True...but some are liable to think on the lines of "excess baggage".

Its human trait to be selfish...theoretically, yes, we are all friends and stuff but, practically, will we ACTUALLY be THEN...considering THAT situation?

Common and mutual survival, or "you go your way, I go mine..."?

You create groups and those who can't hold their weight will meet a terrible fate...

A larger group is harder to maintain but also essential to survival unless you're just a short term solution kind of person.

Since I don't plan on surviving that long I'll suicide bomb one of the groups for whichever group gives me a bomb first.
