The real problem is through no fault of anyone's, my book got off the press and up for the sale the day before a federal holiday. I found it pretty funny that my book would be shipped out on July 4th, considering what it's about.

I am doing my hulk impression right now, because i am green with envy. good job! is this the birth of a new carreer doc?

I hope. Thus far I've seen myself only acceptable as a writer and the worst cashier on earth, so I'm probably gonna have to go with writing in the long run.

:) good. how old are you? I have been writing since i was 15 (now im 32....) and have yet to get a short story published... Mostly because i get caught up trying to put food on the table and find excuses to not do something i love (writing).

fear of sucess i guess.

I'm 25. I started my first novel at 16 and have been pounding the pavement query wise since 18, when I got an encouraging rejection from Exquisite Corpse, which 7 years later was the first place I got a story into print. If it weren't for the fact that I can't get a day job to save my life, I'd have been caught up in trying to do that, too, but instead my girlfriend and I have had to gypsy around on just faith, love and the occasional nod of encouragement. It's not going to get easy, but it will get easiER. You should check out http://www.ralan.com. It's a bazaar of genre markets, big, medium and small that you might find a niche at. Also, don't be afraid of small presses. Everybody wants the advance, but the fact is that an advance is only borrowing money from your future self anyway. Royalties are slow, but they're money and they get you noticed.

Got my copy today!

I'm reading it now... great so far! Darkly humorous and twisted.
