Get the Grindhouse Releasing edition. Its uncut...
Plus if the animal killings bother you, (which I'm tired of hearing people complain about, cause thats part of the film so don't watch it or...) theres a non kill animal version on it.

Ruggero Deodato is a sick fucker. Ive seen this once and it was enough. I enjoy a good exploitation movie. but animal killing..fuck that.

And still you have Cannibal Ferox, Eaten Alive and Jungle Holocaust?:S

Adventure Man 02-18-2007 04:53 AM

R2 United Kingdom - (Vipco) - Yes - 5:44 min of cuts, they are as follows (content of an adult nature, continue at your own will) - - -

The BBFC passed off the extensive cuts list with the comment: Cuts required to scenes involving real cruelty to animals and to eroticised sexual violence:
-The killing of a muskrat has been deleted.
-Our intrepid adventurers witness the riverside murder and mutilation of a woman presumably by her husband. We don't get to witness:
-The girl being dragged through the mud and having her legs forced apart.
-The girl struggling and being raped with a wooden dildo.
-The man raising a mudball with spikes and the subsequent shot of genital mutilation.
The following has also been cut:
-Another woman getting raped on the river bank has been removed.
-The disembowelling of a giant turtle has been predictably deleted.
-A monkey gets his head sliced open and its blood is drained into a bowl.
-The kicking of a tethered pig has been removed.
-The rape one of the adventurers by her companians has been reduced.
-The cannibals eventually overpower the adventurers.
-The woman in the party gets stripped and raped.
-The womans death scene is missing nudity shots.

thanks for the info. to be honest i don't think i'll get the grindhouse version. i actually quite like the movie and (not another one, change the record) the animal cruelty shit would really put me off.

I love this movie and I haven't ever really spoke out agianst the animal killings, but I can also understand all the complaints and the outrage at the animal killings. As far as them being "part of the film," the human killings are also "part of the film" and real humans weren't killed. They could have easily done this with all the animal scenes.

I'm not some animal rights activist... in fact, I love to hunt and fish. But as an avid outdoorsman, I also have respect for wildlife. To pull a giant turtle that's decades old out of a river and kill it to make a movie "more controversial" is pretty lame.

Don't want to speak definately for Mothman, but from past conversations with him I'm pretty sure he's a hardcore collector & completist like me. I do a lot of blind buying just because (as geeky as it sounds) I want to own every horror movie I can get my hands on, even if it sucked. It happens in everything I've collected.
