I'm sure you are a nice wiccan :)

Surely you're not talking about this witch:

She's my girl. If you read, "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West," you'd understand why.

I gotta clarify something. It is very completely true that I am a Witch, however Wicca is a religion. Therefore, not everyone who practices Witchcraft is Wiccan. I have a definitive set of spiritual beliefs, but they are mine, so that isn't a classified "religion." To me, religion involves doctrine, dogma, and a standardized set of beliefs and rituals. I don't jive with that. It also has leaders telling people what to think and how to view the universe. The way I see it, if I have a question, I don't need to go through some Priestess or Priest, I'll just go to the Lady that made it all happen. However, if you've got to put an "ism" on me, make Taoism (but then, how can anyone not be a Taoist?).

It's easily my favourite site on the net. Other forums see me come and post for about a week before getting bored, but Ive been here for years and have no intentions of leaving. Sure, there's people that make it less fun from time to time (not to mention any namesBigloader), but they always get bored/banned/both eventually.

As AM said, this is just such a fantastic community. It's the people that really make HDC what it is, and (to me at least) it's just like a big ol' second familly. We fight, we argue, we learn, we exchange ideas and become better people for it.

Despite the occaisonal trolls and other hardships, this site gets a perfect 10 from me.

Witches are hippies that wear black.

Once again I apologize.
I said "wiccan" as I've read that many people who practice the philosophy of witchcraft, do not like the term "witch" as it conjures up (excuse the pun) pictures of evil old hags wearing pointy hats, flying on broomsticks, no doubt due to the likes of the Wizard of Oz and others', idea of what a witch should look like, and wasn't aware that there was a difference between a "Witch" and a "Wiccan".

I have seen the book but not read it, I'm sure the witch in question is really quite a nice person, who has been given a bad press.

I would like to think I am quite (not completely) open-minded, and I am more than willing to learn in order to understand things more. I have always said "The day I stop learning, is the day I'll be in my coffin".

* that was a (poor) attempt at trying to claw myself out of the hole I was getting deeper into* :(

The old Spook-O-Meter gives this site a 10, people here are really cool.
Even when you are a dumb-ass.

And tic, I know that you are a spiffy guy. Don't worry. I haven't read Son of a Witch yet, but I think there is some speculation as to whether Elphie may return, reincarnated as Liir's (her son) daughter, because his daughter was born green, but if this is so, she won't have that aversion to water.
