the one that really got to me was in
Alexander.
where they actually show the sword
going into the horse in the war against the persians.

The "Faces of Death" documentary series has some of the most disturbing yet real mutilation scenes.

Some of the deaths in Se7en..."Lust" and "Sloth" specially...

The Exorcist had some...most of you know about em...

then there was Mackenna's Gold, where the blonde Britisher is trying to escape from the hordes of Indians wielding axes, spears and what-nots who have sorrounded him from all sides...

Tourist Trap...now thats a real tough scene to get through...

saw a movie called Ms. 45 not too long ago...shy woman getting raped twice in a single night, then killing one of her rapists and cutting his body to pieces, then throwing em parts all over Manhattan...then sets out against all males...

Eraserhead...one messed up flick...

We were Soldiers...burnt soldier gets some help but the skin and flesh peels right off his bone...ouchy...

Bad Boys 2...cutting up of the guy...

Gang rape scene of "The Accused"...

TCM...woman getting dropped on the meathook...

Wolf Creek...death of the girl who returns for the car...

American History X...need I say more about the "curb-ing"?

Mindwarp...kid forced into meat grinder...

Irreversible...the rape plus rapist's head getting smashed umpteen times by the fire extinguisher...

Audition...the man is not completely senseless when the girl holding the piano wire slices his leg into two...

the first death in Final Destination...the guy dying such a painful and slow choking death in the bathroom...

I ll think of more later...

For me, the shower scene in American History X is even worse than the curbing. Especially seeing the former bad ass on a gurney with a towel over his ass, crying. very difficult to watch.

I liked Silent Hill. At least it entertained me, unlike some of the crap they've passed off for horror in the past couple of years.

The scene where the British officer is burned in The Last Of the Mohicans always bothered me.

And the scene in Gremlins where Stripe finally dies in the birdbath really bothered me when I was a kid.

The eye scene in hostel. I can handle most things, but anything with eyes - brutal.

The dude's penis getting cut off in Cannibal Holocaust is equally as disturbing.

Agreed completly on that one. If it went on much longer I would have turned it off.

It was too realistic. I was very uneasy throughout it...

the expression of the eyes (when they turn red), the grasping of the throat at the wire...the struggling of the legs inside the wet and slippery tub...

very realistic indeed.

The rape scene in Vulgar, the scene in I Am Sam where the girl is forcefully sepperated from her dad, the ending of Grave of Fireflies, the necro scene in Aftermath, the hidden sword scene in Izo, in Oldboy when it all comes together and he finds out what he had been made to do. These probably aren't as disturbing as they are remembered and I'm sure there's a lot I've forgotten (I think I remember Tae Guk Gi having a disturbing scene or two) and a lot have already been mentioned.
