I just read this for the first time. Ouch. I can empathize (though, not with the text thing)

As for the drinking, i tried that out not too long ago. It actualy works... but only while you're drunk. And even then you just feel a sort of despicable self-righteous pitty.

The one thing that did work for me (and i know it's cliche` but i bloody well adore the philosophy) is "there's plenty more fish in the sea."

It's true too. Plenty of better guys and gals in the whole wide world that will astound you and open you up to new things and wonderful times. Be a strong individual and live for yourself.

I guess that's my bit. Hope it helped.

Dunno if this has been asked yet, but

What the fuck is a "textmate"?

lol, I'm not sure what she's calling a "textmate", but if you ask me, it's someone I've met online or whatever and are friends with them and just text them with my phone. Some of my friends call their "Cyber-sex" friends textmates. But, don't ask me, because my opinions or answer's never matter or count.

What in the hell are you on about, VC?? Of course your opinions matter and count. Are you feeling blue these days? Here's what I suggest: take a break from your regular music and listen to Miles Davis and John Coltraine (easiest to find). It'll inspire you to put some creativity into your sadness. Try Miles Davis' "Some Kind of Blue" and "Bitches' Brew." Most things by John Coltrain will count. On "Kind of Blue" John and Miles team up.

Get yourself a glass of whiskey, straight, just one glass. (Don't want to send yourself hurling into a state of self pitty). Put on some GOOD jazz, (not that Kenny G shit) get some paper and your favorite pen, and let the words flow. It always makes me feel better.

Try it. Broaden thy scope a bit, lad!

Oh...

Miles Davis: Master of the trumpet
John Coltrain: Master of the saxophone

You could also throw in a little Nina Simone into the mix.
Mood Indigo
Since I Fell for You
I Put a Spell on You
Ne Me Quitte Pas (Don't Leave Me en francais... in fact the whole song is in French, but it's beautiful)
House of the Rising Sun (Her version is SOOOOO much better, I swear it!)
Blues on Purpose
Trouble in Mind (Actually better than the Janice Joplin version)

Oh yeah... forgot one... Don't Smoke in Bed. Great song. She does a kick ass version too.

If that doesn't work, listen to The Dead Milkmen:
Life is Shit
The Thing that only Eats Hippies
Stuart
The Bleach Boys
Bitchin' Camaro
I Walk the Thinnest Line
Bad Party
Two Feet Off the Ground
Methodist Coloring Book

Funny stuff.

For Davis: Bitches Brew... that's the best. I'm gonna pull out that CD soon in fact.. it's been a while

and make sure it's quality whiskey... not that bottled urine with the Black Velvet label.
