I suppose "of all time" would have to be I Love Lucy - insanely popular, still very funny, and innovated the whole genre (3 camera set-up, studio audience, etc.)

That depends on what it is they are observing. If you have no frame of reference to help understand where they are going with something then it will fall flat on its face. It'll work for some but not for all.

Family Guy is aquired for sure but the jokes are often different and when they're not they're told differently. The pop culture referances are great and never repeat. Like the Kool-Aid man, and the Goonies with the Corey Haim (sp) referance thrown in too. Ah, good ole' Family Guy. C'mon, who else would talk about Edward Olmos? Who!?
