Sometimes,it's very hard to be understood on this forum.

I had thought of Resident Evil the first time I saw this thread....I thought it was funny all the way thru also, just Milla's comments stand out imo.

It's a practice so commonplace now, that even on Adam Sandler movies the director provides a commentary! Is there a reason why you've chosen not to do this?
Brian De Palma : I guess it's because it's such a tremendous amount of work. I appreciate it when other directors do it. I was talking to Spielberg about this last night since he's also never done one. He feels that it's because he likes to keep a little of the mystery. I don't have that feeling, my thought is, "God Almighty, I have to sit here and go down memory lane with all this stuff! I don't think I can do this." Maybe later, when I'm sitting on my porch and I'm eighty-two, if I can still remember any of this stuff, I'll do one or two. So, basically it's a time problem, but there are some marvellous ones that are just full of fascinating information, you really have to appreciate them.

Thanks for the info TheOmen ....strange that super-mainstream Spielberg dont do it...maybe he's trying to be mysterios like Kubrick...I'm sure he wouldnt do it either....

I watched my first full length movie with commentary. It was I Spit on your Grave with commentary by Joe Bob Briggs. It was histarical. Totally new experience with movies for me. And I could still watch the movie a secound time right after without the commentary.

"Sleepaway Camp"....just heard half of it......but seems pretty good.....not very informative though...

I'm convinced that Evil Dead II is my favorite commentary. SO funny. It's pretty much everyone ripping on Bruce (Bruce himself included) and also ripping on the movie. GREAT commentary.

Just watched/listened to David Skal's commentary for Dracula '31. Mediocre at best, really boring at worst. Most of it was pretty well known stuff anyway.

Is that from the Legacy Collection? 'Cause I was considering watching the Frankenstein commentary from the L.C. but I trust your opinion well enough that if you say it's dry (I figure they'll be similar) than I won't waste my time.

It was from the Legacy collection, but no worries. A different person does the commentary for Frankenstein. I havnt got a chance to listen to it yet, but The Wolf Man legacy collection had a great commentary...Id say check it out, Id think it'd be pretty good.

Nightmare On Elm Street(preety good)

Nightmare On Elm Street 7(it was ok boring at times)

The omen(preety funny at the beginning because they had forgotten the movie)

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre(preety cool)

I really like the commentaries but I hardly ever get around to watching them. Here are some that I've checked out:

The Devil's Rejects - The Moseley/Haig/Moon Zombie track. Very funny, very cool. Crucial if you're into that movie.

Shaun of the Dead - Made it about half way through this one and just decided to watch the regular movie for the 217th time instead. It's that good. May revisit this one eventually.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) -
Very interesting, especially since it's one of my favorite films.
