In all honesty...If you're truly serious about this...I believe it's gonna fail...This is why:
1) It shouldn't be considered a 'horror' movie...The evils of slave owners have already been WELL expressed in the movie 'Roots'...There was also an EXCELLENT movie on this subject that was called 'Good Night...something'...Well, I forgot the name of it, but it was awesome...I used it as a teaching tool to teach my daughter about slavery
2) You have presented this to horror fans (here) and it doesn't seem to be 'very well received'
3) This would be similar to creating something about what Hitler did, and calling it a 'horror' movie...It's true that it IS 'horrifying' BUT, it isn't 'entertaining', it's simply history...Hitler could never be viewed along the same lines as Freddy, Jason, Michael, vampires, werewolves, monsters, etcetera...And I don't believe that YOUR character could/would ever be seen that way either
4) This would potentially be considered more of a 'documentary'...In my opinion...
5) What would your 'fan base' truly be?...What is your 'target audience'?...Not horror buffs, obviously...Historians perhaps?
6) While you seem impressed and encouraged with the idea that your story is 'stirring emotion'...It is true that a good film will often cause people to feel and to think...HOWEVER...If it causes people to 'feel' pissed off, and makes people 'think' that you're coming off as a racist, glorifying slave "lords", and quite possibly that you must be an idiot......Wellllllll...That's probably NOT a good thing...
This is one project that I simply could not stand behind...Sorry...
