Have you read the book? I haven't seen this miniseries yet, but I'd like to. The book was amazing, and I hear they're IDENTICLE.

So if you have read the book, gimme a book-to-movie kind of review, would ya'?

I loved the book and the orginal movie. But even though the miniseries follows the book more closely I could never make it through the miniseries. And I really couldn't stand the guy from wings as Jack.

I REALLY dug it, I think I've said it before but I'll say it again. I thought it was a better SK mini-series than The Stand, Tommyknockers, Perfect Storm, or Rose Red... but maybe not It. It's up there though.

It's one of the best horror movies!

I'd have to agree with the people that mentioned the remake of 'The Shining', I watched the original & the remake and in the remake it has better graphics, but yet the same good plotline!Plus for some reason I'm disappointed with that scene with the old lady in the bath. lol In the remake she was actually kinda creepy, but in the original, she was just weird...

i read the book years ago ...
i saw the movie soon after and wasnt dissapointed ..

i'd take a Kubrick interpretation over any 'made for TV' version anyday (as a rule)

I like the Kubrick version more than the book or the mini series. I caught the mini series when it was on TV awhile back and thought it was a decent enough distraction with a couple of cool moments. Its a good rainy sunday afternoon watch. I never watched the Tommyknockers mini series but enjoyed the mini series of IT (which I'll have to find a cheap copy of to watch again).

Yeah, What is realistic in horror? It's make believe.

Things have changed since then, however. Although The Shining is still one of my all time faves, there are a few ahead of it.
