vin deisel was great in pitch black, because all he had to do was look and sound menacing.
Anything beyond that is a stretch for him ... and no matter how big his arms are .. he has a goofy cry-baby face.

i dunno, maybe the gals like that .. ?

I'm more of a Paul Walker fan myself. I like Vin Diesel because of his terrible acting.

Overall, I'd say it was average at best.

I can agree Pitch Black was good, but not entirely because of him... the idea behind the film was what made it. There could have been other actors fit the bill aswell, maybe better.

Agreed! I thought the plot was alright, but Vin just sucks! That guy can't act for shit! Pitch Black could have been GREAT with someone else in it instead of him.

pitch plack was good because of great art direction and casting (the other actors were good) and the tight script.

Vin was pretty suited for the roll i thought ... and good that he was an unknown at the time. He had a good look, was kept in the shadows for the most part .. a good roll for an up and comer.
A more established actor would have tried to be too up front and centre for the roll which would have ruined it.

thats one of the many reasons i didnt like Chronicles ...
Now he's a big star he has to be onscreen all the time. in your face .. hardly menacing anymore.
