I can't argue with you on Taxi Driver being great (since it's the best movie ever and all), but Scorsese also made Mean Streets, Raging Bull, Last Temptation of Christ, GoodFellas, and Gangs of New York was great (all those made my top 100). He also made Bringing Out the Dead, Casino, and Cape Fear, all of which were really good. I haven't seen Kundun, but I hear great things about it.

But to answer your question, the movie is that good. Not the best movie of the year, but about 3rd for the year behind Eternal Sunshine and The Machinist

But seriously, you liked Gangs of New York? No seriously.... I was messed up and I still thought "What is this shit!" Horrible, Horrible, Horrible.... I can say that I hated this movie

with the exception of leanardo .. whom i cant stand ... i thought Gangs was pretty cool.. gorgeous to look at and D D Lewis was fascinating ..unbelievable presence.

i wish people would stop hiring leonardo for films ... although i heard he was good in The Aviator

it's hard to tell if he's getting better or not. He's been really good lately, but Scorsese can make anybody look good. The jury's out until he does a good job without Scorsese
