that was incredibly nasty .. dead front and centre on cam too.

The scene where Jason kills the female victim that Freddy wanted. In her dreams, she was hiding from Freddy in a wall locker in the boiler room. Jason roamed the rave party in the stix. As he moved through the cornfield....Jason put the huge machete right thru her mid section.

Alex in Dark Harvest....wasnt a great kill [Scythe thriugh the chest with really bad gore] but just because it was unexpected....the movie was going fairly slow, and they walked around the corner of the old farmhouse. She meets a monster in a terrible mask, and a scythe through her chest.

Whenever someone gets ripped in two by Zombies (Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead) and they wrestle and fight over the guts, it is one of my favorites automatically!

Other than that, it gets a little more difficult. They could easily be broken down into sub-topics (What is your favorite murder scene: involving a edged weapon, Zombie, car, insects, etc...)

Remember the exploding heads from the "Scanners" movies? They were cool too.

Very difficult to choose just one, but if I must...It would have to be the Biker (Savini?) being ripped into two pieces in DOTD.

Then again, there is that scene in Jason X when he takes the bare, big-breasted holographic chicks and beats them into a tree within their sleeping bags. That was definately unique!

i dont know if it is murder, but I like the death scenes in Final Destination movies... They are really cool and different from everything else out there. I've seen people get stabbed, chopped heads, bla blah blah.... How about Final Destination 2 in the airbag scene (just when you thought you were safe, the airbag goes off!) ? Or the bus in part 1? Or the barbed wire in part 2? There are a few of em.

I also like Freddy Krueger death scene's because its so out of the ordinary and sick. What is your favorite Freddy death move? I kinda like the cockroach scene bc it was so silly and made you feel bad for cockroaches. well not really

That seemed to come from nowhere, and is probably one of the most gory scenes in any mainstream Hollywood film to date - all the more shocking as it features renowned actors.

"Jesus... wept!" Is from a stunning shot at the end of Hellraiser where the baddie out of Dirty Harry is about to be literally pulled apart (sorry if that spoils it for you, whoever asked!).

That "Killed in the Woods" thing reminds me of the mock snuff compilations from W.A.V.E. productions - those ones are laughably theatrical and amaturish (the point perhaps?) and definately sexually motivated.

Dubious entertainment indeed...?

OK As FRank (in Larry Cottons skin) runs towards Kirsty, a dozen hooks go into his arms, back ect. one tearing his back up and down. He also gets them in his face and neck ect.ect.ect.ect. Here is what he looks like so far:

The camera gives us a closeup of his hook pierced face saying two immortal words: 'Jesus wept', in a plsit second after that the hooks rip him apart making him look like this:

Any thoughts...oh by the way I was thinking of doing a death of the week thread, where every monday I place a death from a horror film, I could also get lots of suggestions for deaths...hmm.....ok back to the subject.

My second fav death is in Phantasm 2 when the sphere goes throw that guys back and gets stuck in his mouth. Great death.
