there was life before the internet and there is life with it. what is reality? what is natural? even virtual reality and little online bf/gfs are still 'reality'

and just like someone from the internet can kill u, same with the person who delivers ur newspaper, the person at church, in the grocer etc etc... and consider that majority of murders/assaults are between people who knows each other, either friends or acquaintances... (as opposed to strangers)

the one thing the internet provides is anonimity.
true a 'bad person' could get at you in the real world. but not without you seeing them.

I will say that the 'net' has been given a bad rap because of the few times some scumbag has used a chat line, etc to lure some young person with false promises but that is a very small percentage. You've got more to fear from a 'trusted' friend or family member.

But as the threat does exist no matter how small, kids should be educated .. but not in an all or nothing approach .. but with education and common sense.

There will always be vulnerable kids .. because of whats going on in that particular home, but those kids are in danger no matter what.

and as far as video games go .. i dont think there are a lot of kids giving up on playing outside to play video games ..
in the past those kids didnt want to go outside anyway .. they'd read or watch TV - if allowed to.

Parenting is tough .. there are things you can potentially screw up at every turn .. but that doesnt mean you fucking give up.

A true bad person will see that you not seeing them, is a plus. So when you do meet, who is gonna know any the wiser.

The internet is a downfall. It shows "us" as a people, can't be as we are on here as we are in real life. If we lived in a society with no repercussions, the internet is what it would be like.

what is this based off of? Its all situational. If someone is being molested by uncle john, wouldnt they PERHAPS be more inclined to keep they mouth shut since its a relative, as opposed to a stranger? That said relative could use their power/influence to keep them to shut up?

that and it depends on hwether or not u actually meet etc, and the crime. lets say in a rape, both situations would be left with physical evidence but in the internet case odds are there would be some sort of log, whether on the TIF, email, website etc..

what does the internet do? provide information and connect people from all over the world. of course with the good info and the good people theyres gonna be the BS as well as the pedophiles/assholes etc.

You're apparently a control freak.

You can bring your children up any way you deem safe and fit, etc. But that doesn't mean they aren't going to be exposed to questionable content, and turn out the way you want them to.

All you can do is be a good parent and provide them with honest answers and teach them to make solid choices in life.

You can't control every aspect of their lives.

WE are the downfall .. people.

A certain percent of our population are bent towards excess. They cannot control their greed.

We are greedy as we exit the womb .. we need to eat to survive.
That same survival instinct stays with us but as not alll people are equal, not all people will be able to temper that greed instinct with common sense, or the desire to work together in a society.

Be it their wiring is wrong, or they are weak and subject to stronger negative influences, or their parents let them get away with everything because it was easier for them that way ...
these people will always find a way to hurt and bother the other people around them.

I dont want to hear that the reason is because we are becoming godless because i can cite a lot of references (not with the complete and historical accuracy that Kemal can) where devout christians have caused more harm in the world than good.


The problem is people. We are a parasite on this planet and the good ones cannot repair the damage done by the bad ones. They work faster and with a greater effect.

There is no easy answer .. we are all driven to extiction by our own basic insatiable greed. Our 'survival mechanism backfiring like a bastard.
