DAWN OF THE DEAD is an all time fantastic five star effort that should be seen by everyone!

If you like DOTD, you might also enjoy MARTIN (1977), also by Romero with an unusual take on vampirism. Really enjoy this and neat seeing a lot of Romero regulars in here. ****

Tragic Theater

In February 1999, a group of spirit communicators attempted to exorcise a film center in Manila of ghosts. These supernatural beings were believed to be those of the victims from a fatal accident during its hasty construction.

Unknown to them, something had long ago taken sanctuary inside the building, feeding on the anger and misery of the victims’ souls. They learned this secret too late and walked into a horrifying encounter.

Starring Andi Eigenmann / Christopher De Leon / John Estrada. Brought to you by Viva Films. Coming this January 8, 2015. Watch this Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8yFuTnQTc4

Paganini Horror, 1989. 7/10

Thumb resize.

The movie deals with a female rock band who buys a lost sheet of music that belonged to legendary Italian violinist/composer Niccolo Paganini who was said to have a pact with Satan. The band turns the sheet music into a synth tune called "Paganini Horror". They rent Paganini's old house and film a crappy music video, suddenly Paganini returns from his tomb, with a golden mask and a switchblade violin and starts to kill one after the other...

Its not really good but its charming..he killed his girl and supposedly strung his violin with her insides...I like that! : )

The Amityville Horror (1979)

A family moves into their dream home only to learn that it was the sight of a mass murder a year earlier.

This movie had a couple of genuinely scary scenes, but it had a lot more lame and dull ones. It dragged on a lot of times, but I felt that the biggest problem with this movie was that there really wasn't anything to be scared of. The "villain" in the movie is really just the house, but even then, they could just walk out of the house like normal. The film was just very underwhelming.

4/10

Have you seen the remake starring Ryan Reynolds?

I liked them both, but the remake the best actually.

The remake was terrible and the original is a classic. Also the house may have been the villain but it was using the father and your complaint about them leaving the house could be said for any haunted house movie

I caught the last 20 minutes or so on TV a couple of years ago, but I don't really remember much except that he went full Jack Nicholson unlike the original. I plan to watch the remake, however.

There are quite a few movies where it's not the house that's haunted, like in Paranormal Activity, but even if it is the house, then it's a certain demon, like in Poltergeist. And, if it's not a specific demon, then that location usually is isolated, like in The Shining, or the building itself changes in order to trap the victims, like in Grave Encounters.
