The Virgin Suicides
--- I've always thought people bashing Posher for stuff like this was... just kidding around. Personally I don't think he has all that terrible tastes. In comparison with what everyone likes and lists on their 'top 10' list here, he seems to fit in fine... while I stand out far worse then he does. I share the same type of interests in movies as Posher does, to an extent. I enjoy Kill Bill vol. 1 and vol. 2 to a 10/10 or higher basis, and while I wouldn't rate John Tucker Must Die a solid 10, it'd get an 8 in my books because it's fucking enjoyable. You need a movie like this once in a while, and it's something you can watch over and over again. People need to learn exactly what opinions are. There isn't one style of 'taste' superior to anothers, so stop acting like it. |

Thanks Josh. Good to know that there are some people not wanting my head on a stick. Gladiator- 9/10 |
Is Night of the Creeps worth the watch? I've heard nothing but hopes and wishes for it to come to DVD, and it's airing on SCREAM tonight (I'm recording to DVD-R).

There is no DVD release and the VHS is hard to find, isn't it? That's why I'm recording it, incase one never does surface. :(

It's almost like an earlier version of Slither. I know it's a cheap comparison but that's about the closest thing I could think of that's close to it. It'd a blast. :)

I hope we're allowed to discuss this here?
To Posher: If everything turns out fine with it, then sure, it wouldn't be a problem. There is no DVD (although a UK "special edition" is on ebay... but it's sketchy, and goes for over 50$) and the VHS is out of print (duh). I say "if everything turns out fine" because we are currently experiencing a snow storm (IN APRIL!!!) and the signal is pretty weak. By midnight tonight (9 hours) it should be all cleared up (hopefully), though. Keep in mind that it won't be pure DVD quality as SCREAM is a DSR channel and does not broadcast in HD. It will also be in fullscreen and have a logo in the bottom corner (well, at least I expect... although they do air a buttload of movies in WS as well... in which case there would be no logo on the picture). After capture I can send you a few screens if you'd like to see how it turned out. This is my recording capabilities. If this means anything to you. I can master it to DVD with higher settings, but the result won't be leaps and bounds better. Quote:

We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story (1993) 8 / 10
|
black christmas. the original version. felt i had to watch it in light of recent events. it had a big rep and it lived up to it. 8/10. much more interesting and watchable than most fri 13th's or NOES's in my humble opinion
|
I love the original Black Christmas, and in a completely different way I enjoyed the remake (Although it was ridiculous, looking back... I enjoyed it to some extent. It was very well shot, I'll give it that. It was nothing like the original.)

Gossip
Stylish 'thriller' with a nice twist ending. Overall it was just a slight nudge above average. Nothing special. NEXT UP (I'm recording all of these, as DVDs don't exist.) Night of the Creeps & Highway to Hell I AM FUCKING PISSED BECAUSE SCREAM HAS BEEN WORKING 100% FINE AND AS SOON AS FUCKING NIGHT OF THE CREEPS COMES ON, IN THE ALIEN SEQUENCE WHEN THE CAPSULE LAUNCHES TOWARD EARTH... THE FUCKING SATELLITE GOES OUT. OUT. COMPLETELY OUT!!! THIS IS BECAUSE OF FUCKING GLOBAL WARMING. I BLAME IT AND THE SHITTY SAT. COMPANY. IT DOES NOT NEED TO SNOW IN APRIL, LET ALONE 15 FUCKING INCHES. AGH! OF COURSE IT HAD TO HAPPEN TODAY. ITS ALWAYS LIKE THAT. OH FOR FUCK SAKES! |
Night of the Creeps is good fun.....a bit dated [something about 80s movies....not sure if its the styles or the music] still some good fun to be had.

The Prestige- 10/10
Possibly the number one twist ending ever. IMO |

It's back on now but I'm not going to bother recording it since I missed the first half-hour. I'm sure it will air again. I'm downloading a copy from the net now, and if it's good quality (won't be as good as it could have been if this little event didn't occur) I could always forward it to you.
It airs again next Saturday at 8. |
Blades of Glory.....I know people seem to either love or hate Will Ferrell.......in either case....this is one funny movie.
|
just watched "the big lewboski"
|
I have to watch that again. Watched it for the first time a few months back. :)

SaW 2
I enjoyed it,but not as much as the first. The kills aren't quite as good anyway. Good ending, not anywhere as good as the first, but it's solid and it is in the same field as the first. Looking forward to seeing the third. 7/10 |
one of my all tome favorites, can watch that anytime
|
all time, sorry for my horribile spelling

I dont think bashing Posh for his movie choices is correct. Each person is entitled to his/her own opinions about a certain movie. For e.g., if I like The Descent and thought it was an awesome movie, there are bound to be other people who were totally bored by it too. That doesnt mean I hammer my view of that movie into them, or ignore them for that. To each their own, and I think Posh's choices and likes are good enough. Most of his top 10 movies would be in the Top 10 of many other people too.
And getting back to the thread, I just finished watching Invaders from Mars. Popping in From Dusk Till Dawn 3 now. |
Cube: Zero
This was pretty bad ass! I really loved the original, the 2nd one was a step down, but this one is right back up there. Good acting, really interesting storyline, cool kills, and a sweet ending. If anyone hasn't checked out this Cube franchise yet, I highly recommend it. A- |
The Dead Next Door
For a film that was made on little to no budget at all, this was pretty well done. The acting was okay, the story was decent, the script was average. There were some moments of humor and some scenes of really good low budget gore. I also like the references to other low-budget horror greats like having a couple characters named Raimi & Savini, a Romero shout-out graffitied on a wall and Evil Dead playing the background of one of the scenes. All in all, I was entertained. By no means, is this a great film, but for the scant budget they were on, it's pretty good. C+ |
8mm
I had never seen it. Very weird, very fucked up. I enjoyed it, but it was very slow at the beginning. 7/10 |
Running Scared- 9/10
Would be 10, but the first few bits were really slow and boring (restaurant, hooker lady, etc) But it got awesome. Paul Walker was great, but I think the wife did the best job, especially that one scene... (porn house) Highly recommended, however... Kill Bill look like sesame street? I don't think so! |
^ I LOVE Running Scared, and I'm the only one on the forum who agress with that statement. Why? It's referencing the VIOLENCE in each movie - the level of violence. Kill Bill is all crazy over the top with violence, but it's done in a stylistic way. Runing Scared has a good amount of violence and controversial topics, but they are presented in such a way that one has to take it seriously. Kill Bill was fun, this is disturbing.

Crank
Well, that lived up nicely. That was just a fun, mindless fight fiesta! I enjoyed it, thanks roderick and other guy who recommended it. I loved the ending, so random. 7/10 |
See No Evil
Not horrible but not really a memorable flick. |
Battle Royale for the first time... I was expecting a lot and it delivered big time. Loved it. WOW
