Believe it or not...

It has been a massive six years since I graced this wonderful website. The last film I watched... Mama... and I loved it!

Not sure of my buddies are still around on here (urge - you there??) but it is good to be back.

Super, super little gem!

Paul Winfield is at his best as the wild-animal trainer who takes the white dog (an attack dog trained to kill black people) under him to try and retrain the vicious animal. Several scenes of savage, brutal attacks stand out, which are made all the more horrifying by leaving the gruesome details to the imagination (one of which is inside a church). But the main part of the film is devoted to an outstanding interaction between the dog and Paul Winfield. The ending will leave you misty-eyed, specially if you are an animal lover.

Highly recommended to horror and non-horror fans alike. Certainly deserves a lot more recognition than it originally got.

That's a blast from the past. I remember seeing White Dog on TV, in the early 80s. Kristy McNichol and Burl Ives, how could you go wrong?

It's been years since I revisited this. Not my favorite John Carpenter movie but some of the casting is pretty good especially Donald Pleasence and a surprisingly good performance from Alice Cooper. While I find the characters uninteresting the film is able to deliver on the creepy factor. There are some disgusting uses of live insects, a really cool special effect on the canister and a couple solid kills. I think the idea that Satan was an alien is kind of interesting as well.

Well said, ASD. That's about how I would describe it. It was creepy, but didn't make enough sense to me, didn't care about the characters. Reaching through the mirror into another dimension special effects were very well done.

G2, meaning Ghostbusters 2? Are you sure that was in Ghostbusters 2? I don't remember that. I googled it and got nothing.

Oh ...you got me!!!!!!!!!!::embarrassment::::embarrassment::::em barrassment::
It was GREMLINS 2...
I must have really been zoning out...all those late 80's sequels coming out around the same time.

THE BLOB (1988). Silly, but pretty damn good remake of the Steve MacQueen original. Really enjoy this one a lot...cast does well and exceptional FX. ***1/2

I watched Hellraiser today (I saw it about a year ago) because I just bought it on DVD yesterday. Loved it. First time I watched it, I wasn't very fond of it, but rewatching it, it's truly a horror classic.

With your feet dangling dangerously in the pool?
